Mount Forge Montana

Mount Forge Montana

Hey! I'm Matt. I'm from Philadelphia and I make content for a living. My favorite hobby is exploring Montana. I've been to 18 countries and 28 US States because of my work, but Montana is my favorite place in the world.

My wife, Nicole, and I own a 63 acre ranch in Polson, Montana called Mount Forge. We love going out there, but we also love renting it out on Airbnb and hearing stories from travelers who stay at Mount Forge. We love hiking Glacier National Park, skiing at Whitefish, and spending summer days on Flathead Lake.

The goal of this channel is to show you how amazing Montana is and why you should visit The Last Best Place On Earth. We'll include our best travel tips from our many trips to Mount Forge, recommendations on places to eat and visit, as well as videos of us doing some of the coolest things Montana has to offer.

You're welcome to stay at Mount Forge, the Gateway to Western Montana, to experience these incredible things yourself.

    slap some x-country skis on and have an adventure...... 1) ski the Sun road from McDonald Lodge as far you can, beyond Avalanche Creek (6 miles one way). I've encountered moose, mountain lion, elk, and even a bear out early from hibernation 2) ski the Camas Road from McDonald Creek to the 'Meadow" turnout. bust across the meadow and through the woods to the "inside North Fork Road". follow the road back to Fish Creek and out to the Camas entrance. the silence upon stopping and observing is deafening. about 10-12 miles depending on detours 3) head to the Polebridge entrance and ski into Bowman Lake. just over 6 miles one way. have a beautiful mountain lake all to your selves. deer and elk are common sightings

    Airbnb in montana. Just live there and be a legit resident instead of trying to pass off shady construction as a cheap investment to cash in on the Montana tourist boom. Who wouldnt put a 4ft concrete foundation wall under a building, pre-fab or not???? This in Montana! It gets very cold; the snow falls deep; instead of trying to pass off a glorified version of trailer trash.

  • @MountForgeMontana
    @MountForgeMontana10 ай бұрын

    The original plan which was the recommendation by the manufacturer was a concrete slab. This is far from shady construction you can look up the builder yourself it’s an Amish crew that builds to Montana state code. This house will last as long as any stick built home cause it’s the same thing. And after the appraisal- we agreed a 4ft foundation was definitely better and happy we did it, it just wasn’t something we thought of initially cause not what the manufacturer recommended. We’re in this game for the long haul not just “cashing in” but I understand why you would think that way given the environment out there today. We bought our first place in 2019 before the pandemic Montana hype. And also 90% of businesses, restaurants, and more in towns like Columbia falls, Polson, west glacier, whitefish, and more rely on the “tourist boom” to feed their families of local residents who work there. It’s a tourism based economy.

We have one house on 63 acres and then developing more in a region zoned specifically for tourism near a National Park.
