    It is really easy to mess up a bearing when you install them. Bushings are hard to mess up. Best way to install a bearing is to throw it in the trash can.

    Any advise getting to the sensor above the rear sensor on the cat? Bank 2 sensor 1. (Drivers side obviously). I’m really fighting to get access to it. I saw when you removed the sensor on the cat there was a clear view of it. Not sure if that’s the only way. Seems impossible to access from the top.

    Why cut the wire. Just unplug the wiring at the connector and slide the box end down. Provided connector fits through the box end. Some don’t. Or just use the “crow foot” O2 sensor socket and be done.

  • @TheMidnightMechanic
    @TheMidnightMechanic2 ай бұрын

    Plug wouldn't fit through the box end. O2 sensor socket was tight against the body. Plus just showing how to do it with standard tools. A lot of people don't have an O2 socket or flare nut wrench.

    If you're not in California get a 3.4l for it. 160 HP and 220 ftlbs of torque is more than enough to get it sliding sideways without trying. And it requires zero modification, it'll look like a stock 2.8.

    Hi, great video, very helpful for me, thank you! I'm swapping to a T56 behind my 2002 6.0 LQ4. Will the pilot bearing that came with my LS7 clutch kit tap right into my LQ4 crankshaft, or do i need a different bearing? Also, I'm planning to use the flywheel bolts that came with the Luk LS7 clutch kit.

  • @TheMidnightMechanic

    Yes, the bearing will work. We recommend going with a bushing instead though, we never use bearings. You can also use the flywheel bolts that came with the kit.

    I put teflon on every bolt. Makes the brake job easier next time.

  • @TheMidnightMechanic
    @TheMidnightMechanic2 ай бұрын

    While teflon tape does work like anti-sieze, I'm not really sure I'd want anything that makes things easier to remove holding on my brake parts. There's a reason some bolts have threadlocker on them and not anti-sieze. Coming from someone who has had a snugged up caliper bolt back out before.

    Pro tip from a 38 year plumber. If you are joining two dissimilar metals with threads rap some Teflon tape around the male threads. This is not to make a seal. This is to keep electrolysis from setting up and you not being able To get the threads apart later for whatever reason. You can also use pipe dope but if you use too much, you can cause a lot of problems, especially if you’re talking about air conditioning.

  • @larrynason8716
    @larrynason87162 ай бұрын

    I find lots of times teflon helps threads from galling and siezing.I see no problem with using teflon for it's anti- seize qualities.

  • @TheMidnightMechanic
    @TheMidnightMechanic2 ай бұрын

    You shouldn't use it because there is a possibility of not getting a total seal on the flare because of it. I get what you are saying, but those threads are designed to be installed clean. A lot of (maybe most) inspectors will fail sysyems for using any type of sealant or tape on compression or flared fittings. Especially gas systems.

  • @user-ri7xu9qf6k
    @user-ri7xu9qf6k2 ай бұрын

    Fun fact Teflon tape is for friction reduction of ruffed cut pipe threads. Pipe dope or thread sealant is for sealing the threads.

  • @TheMidnightMechanic
    @TheMidnightMechanic2 ай бұрын

    Teflon tape will also seal the threads along with lubricating them. Just not as well as pipe dope or thread sealant. Tape makes it easier to remove, too.
