I am glad you enjoyed this release. I have been put off from buying by negative reviews on other channels. They report serious issues particularly with the mixing/ mastering on the American sound 1969 material. How do you find it? I have heard 'Don't cry daddy' it sounds a little odd in my opinion the way they have Elvis harmonising with himself. See video by 'Elvis Archival Preservation Society' as an example of a view of these issues.

Good morming from Australia Mark. Enjoyed seeing your magazine collection, green with envy over the Vintage Rock magazines. Our local newsagent doesn't stock them but if I went into the Melbourne CBD it would probably be in one of the big magazine stores. We get Retro magazine here and they often feature Elvis, but the one devoted completely to him didn't appear on the shelves. Thanks in advance for the magazine, looking forward to it❤

Absolutely agree this is a top Elvis album. His version of Gentle on my mind is superb. Not such a fan of the bonus track versions which for me detract from the quality of the original tracks. I have been wondering what the MFSL version is like and whether it is much better sounding.

My dad trained as a cinema projectionist at the Odeon in Gloucester. In 1958 the first film that he showed was King Creole. He bought the single, his only Elvis record. When I was able to sit upright, my mum would sit me in front of a portable record player and put a stack of singles on the spindle. She said that I would watch the single spin and the records drop down. But they noticed that I reacted to a certain single, whichever side was playing. That was King Creole/Dixieland Rock. I would rock back and forth and wave my arms. They would laugh and say that I would be a fan. My first certain memory was of 1973, asking for the Separate Ways album, which had just been released. Soon I had a collection of Camdens, then my first "new" album was Promised Land. I joined the UK Fan Club in 1974 and started saving money to go with them to see Elvis in Concert. Sadly, that was not to be. I started work 1982 and in 84 went to Graceland with the Fan Club. Now I have over 2000 records and about 250 cds. Elvis has been at the centre of my life since childhood. I wrote this last 16th August: It is impossible not to feel emotional and watching other people's videos reassures me that I am not alone in these feelings. This day brings back that terrible moment when my childhood crashed. I had not experienced loss or grief. It seemed natural to me back then that the world was sad too. Strangers with tears in their eyes, but we instantly understood each other. I have spent every 16 August quietly, remembering and saying “thank you” to a man who never knew that I existed or just how much he gave me. A shy, young English kid living in a small town. Thank you Elvis.

Good video Mark, nice tribute I did a video a few months ago on my channel about how I became an Elvis fan, but briefly for those who haven't seen it, I discovered Elvis in 1960 when I was 12 years old and saw GI Blues after the kids at school were raving about it. From then on, I collected fan magazines, records (as I could afford them on my pocket money!), joined fan clubs, and saw every Elvis movie on the day of release in Melbourne. Married the president of the Vic. Fan Club in 1971, and we flew to San Francisco to see Elvis on stage in November 1976. We split up in early 1977, and I remarried someone who didn't mind Elvis, but wasn't besotted like me. When Elvis died, I thought that was the end of everything Elvis - no more records or movies, but how wrong I was! I made a new life with my second husband and for 40 years had no idea what was happening in the world of Elvis. I only found out 2 years ago when my husband died, and I had been surfing KZread art channels, and happened to see a few Elvis channels. So here I am, furiously trying to catch up, spending my pension on eBay and Amazon.

Sorry, I don't do Facebook. Too much rubbish on it. I know I am missing out on a lot of Elvis stuff, but that's my loss. I am happy communicating with fans on KZread. Mark, why don't you check out organised tours to Graceland from the U.K.? I believe they are organised every year from several countries. I know there are always a few groups from Australia, the travel agents know who do them. My younger friends have been trying to persuade me to go, but as much as I'd like to (plane travel doesn't worry me, I've had many plane trips in my life), my health issues would make things very uncomfortable at times and I don't want friends to feel they are responsible for my well being, although they say they wouldn't mind. I would!

Hello MARK what s great video to do during ELVIS week. My first ELVIS album I ever owned was SEPARATE WAYS my mom bought it for me. That was 1972 and I was 9 years old and have been buying ELVIS music ever since. Just bought the ELVIS MEMPHIS 5 CD box set, have been a ELVIS fan for as long as I can remember. Can remember my dad playing his worn out copy of ELVIS 45 rpm record HOUND DOG from the fiftys ( it's now in my collection ) when I was little 4 or maybe 5 and I fell in love with ELVIS and his music.

Poor marketing. I think these LP's (Promised Land, Good Times, Raised on Rock), should have been combined/made into a double LP, called " Elvis at Stax:", just like they recently released. Most of his 70's LP's looked alike, with singles released on Budget LP's. It was a colossal mess.

Hello Mark from Kansas City, Missouri. I started collecting Elvis vinyls in 1972, and I was 8. I was raised 3 hours north of Memphis in Kentucky and remember listening to Elvis gold hits vol.1 when I was 3. Elvis had so much love, soul, and humanity unlike anyone of his era. Im still collecting at 60 years young. Tyvm for your heart-felt video. TCB ⚡️⚡️⚡️
