Hi Mark. Volume one and five I only have on CDS. All five are great albums. I have three copies of volume four with two different back covers. Hard to pick out a favorite. I would say volume two and five. ❤️👍

An excellent collection. The Amazon version of Volume 5 is amazing I will have to save up for that. My favourites are Volume 5 down to Volume 1 in that order. The Volume 5 cd with the bonus tracks is well worth getting.

Hello Mark, very nice to see your golden records collection. My favourites have always been volumes 2 and 4, they are among my most played Elvis albums and I shall never forget that first time I heard My Wish Came True - it was incredible and I fell in love with it instantly. About the original Golden Records (volume 1), you might want to mention that the UK track listing on all copies 1958 through 1970 is radically different from the US issue. Because HMV had recently deleted their Elvis catalogue at the end of their UK distribution deal with RCA, a lot to tracks became unavailable to record buyers; in particular a lot of Sun recordings which were found on HMV singles and the epic Rock’n’Roll album. To redress this situation, RCA added these items to various albums in the coming years. To make way for these tracks on Golden records, Jailhouse Rock/Treat me Nice/Teddy Bear/Loving You were moved over to the Gold Records Volume 2 (which was unacceptably short, anyway) and various lost HMV (including the Love Me Tender soundtrack) tracks were added to A Date with Elvis and For LP Fans Only. These albums are much better value and more entertaining than the US versions as a result. The 1956 album, Elvis, remained deleted until restored to the catalogue with the American cover in 1962. And last thing on this subject, years years ago I remember seeing a rerun of the tv show, Ready Steady Go, on which Paul McCartney gave away a copy of Elvis’ Golden Records as a prize (back in 1964) and it was clear that he had picked it out himself.

You have done well, keeping track of all those changes over the years! In Australia, RCA mostly produced Elvis' albums as they were in the USA, with the exception of the back covers. The front covers were the same, but they scrimped on the back covers which instead of having more photos of Elvis, we mostly got just text with an occasional photo. And the inner sleeves were just the thin plastic, not paper with a catalogue of other LPs.

Hi Mark, great video on all those albums. I only have the Aussie versions (same as the US) of the first four, didn't know there was a Vol.5 until recently. Actually I'm only half telling the truth - I have the four on CD, but only one (Vol 2) on vinyl, and the only reason I bought that was because I had to have the cover! I've got that image on calendars, a jigsaw puzzle, books, etc. but never get sick of it.

All five are great, if pushed I'd say Vol. 2 is my favorite. Since they generally followed the timeline of Elvis' career, I think they pretty much have it covered, what would they put on a volume 6? There seems to be more of a tendency to put a lot more songs onto their releases in more recent years. They have many packages that cover the same material, with the resurgence in vinyl they seem to do multi disc releases with the hit packages.
