What vouchers would you recommend going for? I see you skipping them a lot.

In general I don't aim for a lot of vouchers. I tend to buy them if I have 35 or more dollars so that I can retain my interest. The ones I tend to make exceptions for are Telescope (when I have one specific hand I'm trying to make), Grabber and Pain Brush. Those can be so important that they are worth the loss of money. Vouchers like Overstock or Clearance Sale are very strong, but only really when your money situation is already figured out. One thing though: I think I don't prioritize money enough sometimes and there might be more opportunities for me to buy Vouchers in my runs if I optimize my chances to actually get a lot of bucks, but I'm still figuring out how to best handle that sort of thing.

I felt like I needed a 3-value symbol at that point. It can be a big trap to focus too much on long-term gains but neglect the short-term problems. I'm not sure how much I needed the Omelette at that point, but there was a real risk of falling behind.

Hard for me to say if you could have played it better. Picking up a dwarf early would have been great for the bartender but it's not something you can reasonably assume will show up early. All in all it seemed like one of those unlucky runs where you're never really handed synergises. The rare reroll being unhelpful was brutal.

Yeah, Hex of Thievery is not great. It's worse than a 2-value symbol on average and you can just lose a run randomly if it decides to trigger a few times in a row.

I played Balatro, so definitely. But yeah, I had some friends over and it was great. My 3-year old son encouraged me to stand on a chair when people were singing happy birthday, which was actually a lot more fun than I would like to admit :)

Had a similar situation the first time I beat black deck, except I got Caino, followed swiftly by pareidolia. I didn’t get that many hanged men, but I got enough to clear ante 8, which I’ll honestly take as good enough.

If it makes you feel better I'm at 70 floor 20 wins and my highest win-streak is still 4. Mind you my win rate is just under 40%.

Yesterday I lost five games in a row and finished off with a cat build that ended up going into endless with 20 cats with a multiplier of over 120 quadrillion each. The sheer RNG is funny at times.

Not long ago I had an early witch/hex run with holy water, ritual candle run that got really lucky with essences. It looked so wrong but absolutely smashed the non-endless section of the run.

Mult isn't necessarily better than chips. You need a combination of both generally. There's also more growing mult jokers than growing chip jokers so I think it might actually be a very reasonable change honestly.
