Just had a run where I lost by 6$ because a hex of theivery stole 3$ 5 spins in a row.

Yeah, Hex of Thievery is not great. It's worse than a 2-value symbol on average and you can just lose a run randomly if it decides to trigger a few times in a row.

Hard for me to say if you could have played it better. Picking up a dwarf early would have been great for the bartender but it's not something you can reasonably assume will show up early. All in all it seemed like one of those unlucky runs where you're never really handed synergises. The rare reroll being unhelpful was brutal.

In retrospect I think I should have picked up the Bartender anyway. It's a 3-value symbol and that was still fine here. Even if there was a chance of getting random 1-value symbols later.
