Take the celery out add a scallion instead of the regular onion. 👌🏻

James is a tough critic. Every cooking channel should have their kids taste their food. That's the real test of quality.

2Flouring the beef is a waste of time and flour. Just put a strainer in the pot after the liquid is in, pour in the flour, and use a whisk to sift the flour through the strainer which leaves a smooth chunkless blending of flour into the liquid to then be cooked. If you do the beef method, you contaminate the left over flour and it has to be thrown away.

That's a good kid. He gave an honest review, he wasn't into tuna melts, but liked it enough to eat the whole thing. I know a couple of kids, that would just let it rot on the table, or straight up throw it in the garbage can.

Thanks for the tuna salad tips. But insofar as the actual sandwich - you NEVER pair fish and cheese. Your kid is right.

Cains mayo...limited simple imgredients..everything else I already use and add a bit of fresh lemon right off the tree 😋. When I make a tuna melt I also add a couple kosher pickle slices. Tuna is very accomodating to individual tastes. This tuna looks great.

Currently eating your chicken salad recipe, back here to find the magical tuna. It's crazy to me how a couple of little technical things can elevate a simple recipe you've been eating all your life. Honestly about the best chicken salad I've ever made, so excited to try this. Also: Miracle Whip is an abomination that needs to be removed from the market.

Basic tuna salad......doesn't need any additional salt or onion. Make it to your taste but tuna and mayo have enough salt......no additional necessary.

I'm kinda with James. A melt is served hot/warm. In fact, I'm not sure it's even a "melt", if not warm/hot. But the recipe and technique is something I'm going to try tomorrow.

In Geamyvwe use less less sugar . The other variety is using a bit sour cream and less vinegar and no sugar. Tastes very good too, especially if you have mashed potatoes in the meal and a Schnitzel.

I suggest using a whole chicken, roasted. The leg and thigh meat adds a ton of flavor. These can be bought at the stores now for between $5 and $10. To ramp it up a bit more buy a Red Bird chicken and roast it yourself.

James is right- it needs 1/2 pound more sausage. Great recipe, a champion - once a month it is back in our kitchen. Don't let the sauce get too dry and put a bit more sausage - 2 lbs for the 8 people recipe.

I guess our taste buds must be different...lol I just made spagetti tonight and all I typically use for spagetti sauce is prego...but I also watch a lot of the food network channel and like to cook and build flavor in my sauce so I add other spices as well to it...and I love to experiment in my sauces until I get a flavor that I really like....so tonight for example I added Italian seasonings, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, minced onion, cilantro, paprika and when I browned the hamburger I added like a tablespoon of worchester sauce and steak sauce...lol

Hm, I may need to try the soy sauce. But then, I use dill pickle relish (and a dash of extra dill) along with capers, so I probably don't need any added salt.

I've always hated the chunks of celery in chicken salad. My favorite way to do it, is put the celery and onion (and cranberries if they're going in there) in a food processor and pulse it down well, especially the celery.
