Hi all, I am Jessica de Korte, the Fietsvlogger.
Fiets is Dutch for bicycle - and well, I am Dutch.
I love slow cycling: I explore countries on the bicycle, taking as much time as possible for sightseeing and cool conversations.
In my vlogs I'll share my rides, but I also tell you more about my profession as a travel journalist and photographer, and my way of dealing with fibromyalgia - a chronic condition that causes chronic pain. Last, but not least: I'll share my thoughts on (bike) products I am using.

I don't speak with people with fibromyalgia ™. 1- i got a busy schedule and don't have time to lost with a white middle aged women, overweighed, inactive and depressive who talks about fibromyalgia all the time. 2- that's all.

Haha yes I heard myself saying it. 🫣😂 The guide kept calling vineyards wineyards (exactly, a literal translation from Dutch: wijngaarden) and I guess I took it over. See, I’ve got a good excuse. 😊

Wat knap dat je dit zo met ons deelt. Het leven is niet altijd rozegeur en maanenschijn, het kan behoorlijk pittig zijn. Vreugde en verdriet wisselen elkaar af en soms kunnen ze naast elkaar lopen. Ik wens je sterkte om stapje voor stapje vooruit te gaan. En ik kijk uit naar nieuwe video's die gaan komen, ik vind ze heel leuk om naar te kijken...ga zo door

Stick to it ypung lady! I love your cycling videos. Give me inspiration to get off my butt and on my bike with the tent etc (even if it is only for 1 or 2 nights at a time). Couldn't do that trip on the river cruise to save my life though! Had a few miserable times in my life too, but now have 4 grandchildren ranging from 5 months to 5 years to think about. Old man from UK living in Austria, speaking a bit of broken German (more like Denglish if I'm honest). Sunset Strip (77) at the end of next month). Have to keep taking the tablets now and seriously restricted alcohol intake after a life of eating, drinking and being merry between the hangovers! Along with mountaineering, rock climbing, camping etc at the slightest opportunity since the age of 15. Yes, you brought a tear of sympathy to my eyes! Been there, done that! It gets better, but like grief, never totally forgotten, sadly. Please excuse the "Edits". Like many others my proof reading skills improve dramatically after 'send' is pressed! 😄😘
It takes courage to be open as you are and letting us know how you are feeling. Well done. Take all the time you need… Your story on fibromyalgia got me to follow you. You encourage me to sit on a bike more and possibly go on a micro adventure again on the bike. Don’t be hard on yourself. Just follow the path you already have chosen… 👊🏻

Ik vraag mij af hoe men kan werken met fibromyalgie. Ik heb het ook, mijn weker gaat om 6 uur af. Hoewel ik weinig en slecht slaap sta ik toch op, maar alleen god en ik weten hoe beroerd ik ben dag in dag uit. Voel dat ik gemartled wordt. Heb ook nog eens een baan waar ik zeer scherp in moet zijn, terwijl mijn hele lijf zeer doet. En ik moet geld verdienen om te over leven. Wie heeft een goeie tip voor mij aub. Mijn dank zal groot zijn.
Zo voel ik mij precies. Heel heftig. Zoveel onbegrip van mensen.
Jouw video’s geven hoop. Ik herken veel. Soms is het moeilijk om de motivatie te vinden om te bewegen (fiets, wandelen etc) vooral in de winter. Maar inmiddels doe ik 1x per week aan yoga, zwemmen en het doel is om daar fietsen aan toe te voegen. Dit naast een wandeling met de hond 😊

Heb je voor jezelf een basis ‘regel’ t.a.v. rustmomenten? Heb je ook last van je knieën en enkels? I was sleeping in this tent somewhere wild in Belguim and this night had a crazy rain. This tent didnt even leaked after 4hrs of rain.

2019 was the last cycling holiday we had in Netherlands pre COVID and it was our 5th tour. We retire this year so next year is the start of hopefully getting back to what we loved to do. I would love to go further North to the Wadden Islands. Thanks for the share.
