    @@FatMat916 there coming bro I had a hiccup last weekend the LOC I was running blew and literally took the AAK 6k and my LF Audio HPVM with it and fried the wires throughout the car from a set of T-tap connectors that the original install shop used over 2 years ago it's my fault for not redoing the wiring to the LOC after 2 years so I'm chalking it up to inexperience but I have it bumping on a brand new CAB-45 V2 I'm having to redo everything just to make sure I don't get a short again but I still have the AAK 180.4 to go on the doors and the AAK 6k and LF Audio volt meter are being sent off and will be back in the system soon

    I'm no expert but to my understanding the tinned or silver plated are to prevent corrosion but give more resistance (fractional amount) then the copper but there is a difference nonetheless I myself use tinned OFC ferrules I don't think it's enough resistance to matter unless you start talking about brass or aluminum compared to copper

    Shouldn't get too hot of the AC line, relay is the way to go, only concern I would have is make sure that fan can vibrate from driving and get into your pulley or belt, other than that your dialed. If you could actually flip it over and get a couple short self tapping screws into the fender well to mount the fan to make sure it doesn't move that is what I would do. Or drill a couple small holes in the shroud so you could run a zip to another hose to keep it more stationary.

    You've got two of the Kicker Q class square subs that are dual 4 ohm? (41L7124) Looking at the TS specs it shows the Re to be about 3 ohm per coil. That's a little lower than normal for a nominal 4 ohm coil, but shouldn't be an issue. The main thing is that all four coils should read very close to each other. What is the other sub reading? Different? You should be able to wire both subs to either a 1 or 4 ohm nominal load. On a DC meter just before the amp it should read about 0.75 ohm or 3 ohm. Once the AC current is flowing the impedance will rise. That amplifier should easily be able to handle a 3 to 4 ohm load. You say the thermal protect light came on? Was the amplifier extremely hot from playing?

  • @JasonWW2000
    @JasonWW200018 күн бұрын

    It's possible that one of the coils is damaged and is shorting out at some point in the travel. If it's like an intermittent short the amp might protect, but it shouldn't be thermal related. You might try wiring up one sub at a time and playing it, but not too loudly and see if one sub plays fine, but the other causes the amp to go into protect. Also, inspect all the wiring that you can see. Check that the terminals are tight and the speaker wires are not touching the frame. Look over the tinsel leads for any burning or other issues. Gently push or pull on the cones to listen for any scraping.

  • @SlamryCamry19
    @SlamryCamry1918 күн бұрын

    Yes they are dual 4 ohm and after taking the box and everything out and removing the subs come to find out the original spade connectors the install shop used had worn out and the ground came disconnected during playing and instantly threw the amp into protect that will NEVER happen again I won't use anything that doesn't have a push terminal or ring terminals but the new enclosure came in this morning the D4S HD3 single 15 enclosure with the triple baffle and double sided all the rest it's a good heavy duty box for the Tyrant and it has good strong ring terminals and I have 4 gauge OFC sky high power and ground for the SPEAKER wire LoL that should do it but the box wouldn't fit in the trunk or at least through the opening sooo I'm going to take the trunk apart this weekend and try again if not I will be building a platform/floor lvl with the trunk up to the rear seat and use the prefab until I can make my first show and meet some people to teach me how to Properly build a wall/4th or 6th in the rear seat area
