    Slag consists of aluminium oxide. You'd limit it by putting cans through small opening in the top of your owen. Also higher temperature speed up this oxidation reaction.

    But with the proper lens you can do this at least 4 times faster! With more detail at the same time! Man, you have a super powerful laser with these 60 W, but deep engraving a small coin with a lens having a huge working area of 200 x 200 mm is just a massive waste of time. Also a massive waste of the resource of the laser source, which resource is not infinite. And a 60 W laser source is not at all cheap. You need a lens with as small as possible working area. The smaller the working area of the lens, the faster it will work. And also, the smaller the working area of the lens, the finer spot it produces, hence more details you get. Lens with a 35 x 35 mm working area may not be enough for this large coin. But a lens with a working area of 50 x 50 mm will do for sure. It will do the same coin around 4 times faster and you will get at least 2 times more detail!

    I've melted aluminum and brass before, and after this video i'll be trying to do copper. Also, if you want to get rid of your spider problem, there is an insecticide called Talstar that you can probably buy online (it is legal in Australia) that will get rid of them almost instantly. Just put a couple ounces in a 2 gallon garden sprayer and goodbye spiders. Great for fire ants too. Make sure to wear gloves and don't get it on you.

    So you can't just extract the ZBuffer from the GPU, like in Rhino? It takes a second.

    I heard IOS and Android support is on its way for this scanner. With an add-on to allow for wireless scanning. Something I am very much looking forward to. Hope it will come out soon!

    Always quench your metal after you pour it. The natural color will come out. Otherwise it will stay black like yours did. Neat little machine for gold silver or platinum. Cant think of any small micro projects for aluminum or copper

    It is just an oxide sometimes called fire scale by newbies. Put it in a pickle or dilute sulfuric acid after it has cooled.

    Is it possible to make a height map from a 3D image? From an AI 3D image using this method This was a great tutorial!! I made my 1st height map today using blender for the 1st time. Thank you! ?

  • @ArtByAdrock
    @ArtByAdrock7 күн бұрын

    You would need to convert the AI image to STL format. You need the 3D model first. There are ways to do it but it can be time consuming.

    I saw upgraded furnace in my notifications and thought you were changing it up with a new propane unit! 😅. These electric furnaces look like they’re great for smaller projects

    @ArtByAdrock I agree with you about the handles. I can move my furnace after unplugging while it is still hot, probably not with this one. I wonder if Toauto made the resistance wire more durable or thicker to help with the faster heating? I've heard that the one I have is prone to wire failure after a while, but mine has been good for nearly three years so far. Shrug

    If you’re interested in an electric melting furnace, this upgraded model melts copper quicker than the previous model although mine is still working fine after 3 years of use. It’s not yet available to order but will be soon and I’ll provide the link once it’s ready. Enjoy and I’ll see you all in the next one. 👍🏻
