You would think for the price that the factory could file the nut properly at the build stage? They really need to change their process. I bought a String Butler and got a properly built bone nut problem solved.

Sorry to play 20 questions. Many say the tone x 1 amps feels better than line 6 stuff. Would you consider using the tone x 1 and hx stomp xl together? Tone x1 for amps and stomp mode for weird sounds on the hx stomp xl?

Converters and cables won't be a secure on the board IMO. I've always just used a di. Maybe it's habit, but I don't want to use a converter or rely on house di boxes

Laurel wood always darkens up after you feed it some lemon oil but you have to keep up on it as they dry out fast too. I like the guitar but those pickups would be headed to the dumpster. Squier OEM Tuners have always been awful.

nice work on the board. I'm especially looking at that hinged plateau. quick thought: use a longer cable on the larger Shure unit and let it run around the 'hinge side', so you won't need to unplug the cable if you open the 'hatch'?

A mate here does something very similar but instead of the Nobels he uses an HX One in front as he said he saw a bunch of Nashville Players still using the old Line6 M5 single pedal but as he likes the Polyphonic Drop style stuff uses the HX one, I've sent him your vid as he'd be interested in the wireless side of things and he said he'll subscribe \m/ Awesome vid

Hi Steve; thanks! Helix floor user here--yes, too big for traveling rigs. Wondering though 'bout your thoughts of pairing units, e.g. two HX Stomp XL's, two Neural DSPs, etc. to hit min DSP resources for your setlists? Thank-you Steve--BTW, your Knaggs sounds and looks Knagg-a-licious! Hey Internet: get SS over 100k subs please! P.S. Steve, I am doing the same thing with the HX Stomp and Tonex One. Presets in the Stomp with no amp block. No midi switching on the TNXO, so it forces you to majorly simplify the Stomp presets…

Great board setup Steve! I have downsized with my HX Stomp. I have a couple external pedals. A Ptichfork and a Cloudburst for ambient stuff. I recently added the ToneX 1. It took me quite awhile to find amp captures that worked for me. However the two I found are really good. A 65 Fender Deluxe Reverb and an AC30. These two amp captures give me enough options depending on the FOH system. Working great thus far.

What people need to understand is the tone in the room will be very differentz but the sound out of a PA will be the same. Why people do not like kempers helixes or quads compared to a tube amp is not because they sound any different listening back on recording, or live FoH. They all sound the same or very close. The thing with tube amps is that you put the volume louder than normal and therefore hear the insane bite of every chord, and you get way more low end punch from the cabinet. You can get that with these other platforms aswell, but the picking sensitivity is very different, maybe a bit compressed, so it is easy to set the volume too low, xompared to what you would set yoyr tube amp to. And therefore you won't get that same bite. Is my theory at least, also a quad a kemper and a helix or line 6 stomp are supposed yo soune like a mic'ed up cabinet, not a cabinet in the room. I have a 40w marshall 2x12 and also a kemper. I had the kemper hooked up to a PA in my luving room and did side by side comparisons. They sound different, kemper is more distortion and more compression sounding, this is tweakable and depends on profiles etc, you can prob make them sound equal in the room also. However when i put my mic in front of the tube amp and played the kemper and the tube out of the same PA, they sounded identical. No difference what soever.
