"In a track, it's going to read as clean". So true and to the point.

Many do not get this! They think clean needs to be CLEAN CLEAN and played isolated. Not how it works successfully!

I have both the IRD and IRX in a rack drawer in the effects loop of my Helix Rack, as well as using the Placater amp for other patches.
Thanks Steve; good one. Still all in with my Helix Floor / JTV-69s combo. Our son though remains fully old school. Love the Friedman IR-X as an option for him--amazing product from world-class engineers. Thanks again; cheers from PDX, OR!
That's pretty impressive! So is that fancy guitar! 🤘
Great video Steve. I run the IRX into my Stomp XL loop and loving it. Best of both worlds, tube pre-amp, and digital IR's with awesome Stomp FX. Awesome Plexi tones w/boost and the BE channel is FIRE!

That could be a killer rig! Gonna have to experiment with it
Works flawlessly with command centre too.
That is really nice! Thanks.
My one piece of gear I loved the minute I plugged in. And love mir and more each time I use it. Heard a board tape for the first time from a gig I played and was simply blown away!

it definitely makes a great impression when its first plugged in!
I love this and also the IR-D. I've owned both for a couple months, and I'm now in the process of replacing my two Helix floors with these two and HX effects. It just clicked immediately when I plugged these in 🙂

@@rogerYT69 The IR-D has much more gain available than the IR-X, and both channels are identical. However, you can get pretty clean sounds out of it as well. Personally, I struggle to pick a favorite - both are great 🙂

@@Morstad64 thanks man! Maybe I also buy a IR-D at some point because I like the IR-X so much ...time will tell 😉
This is my favorite guitar sounds I've ever gotten, personally. The cleans are my preferred combination of dirty and articulate. The dirt channel is perfect for my ideal rhythm tone and with a Boss SD-1 out front it's just a dream come e true. I build a while pedalboard around it and have it running through a KSR PA50 into 2 2x12s.
hell yeah, brother, that's exactly true, 2:12 you gave it life and it will read as clean in the track
It’s the only amp in a box to buy….the best. I don’t use the cab sim because I hate digital, and this unit has all the circuits and the tubes to give you that feel…crank it!
@SteveSterlacci

The cab is an IR isn't it? It's not digital simulation
I own the IR-D. It’s fantastic
Long time follower of yours Steve. I have an IR-x and the sound and feel is better than any other direct options out there. I just bought a Tonex one and run it stereo with the Friedman via HX stomp loops for church. The IR-X killer by itself, but I do love coupling it with a fender circuit on the tonex. You also need to try the JTM flavorored IR-D. Both Friedman units are amazing. This and an h90 or hx stomp and maybe one analog drive pedal is all you would ever need. Hoping Friedman brings out more Fender and Vox flavored offerings in this format.
cool ...I love my IR-X to bits😊 also have some uafx amp pedals (lion, ruby, etc) but the friedman feels best for me and its also a perfect pedal platform 😊
Cool video dude! IR-D is even better! It's more raw and less polished basically. But both are good!

I’ve been using a Kemper for ten years. Tried a HX Stomp along the way and sold it. If only the Friedman was available in my country. It will cost me double the price to import. It seems to be the perfect pedalboard amp.

@@SteveSterlacci nothing wrong with the Kemper. The original, albeit old, tech, is still the best option to me. I just like the simplicity of the IRX (at 61). An amp without the weight 🙂

@@SteveSterlacci Yeah that puts the inherent tone of the pedal and the way that tone stack works in question for me. You wouldn’t usually dial in an amp that way, I’m wondering what it sounds like at 12 o’clock.
Steve, what are your thoughts between the Blackstar Amped 3 and the Friedman ir-x? Do you prefer one over the other?
@SteveSterlacci

Amped 3 does a lot more. It can power a cabinet and external pedals. Plus it has blackstars cabinet software. Hard to choose. It depends on your needs I think

Not quite yet!
Valve/tube preamps are great. For a slightly cheaper treat - try a Mesa V-Twin pedal. It does a warm clean, blues (crunchy) and lead. Has amp / poweramp/mixer and headphone outputs. Takes pedals like a champ.
I challenge your assertion that “only a LP type guitar” will sound right with a Marshall/Friedman type amp tone. A Strat into a Marshall is one of the greatest sounds in Rock and Roll. Hendrix, SRV & EJ would all agree with me.

I didn't mean it that way at all lol I just meant it feels the most right for me. That wasn't to say any other guitar isn't just as great
Had one when they first came out. Sent it right back. The "digital back end" sounded harsh and fake to me. I was disappointed because I love Friedman products. Just my opinion.
