Thank you for this. Was able to repack the gland with ptfe as per your steps without turning off the eater. Saved me calling out a plumber 👍

Might be worth mentioning if you have boards up, to remove as much dead pipework as possible. I couldn't because of time constraints so put a stopcock on the end of pipe run connected to an old outside overflow. Just have to drain it regularly to prevent legionella

bought that fan, but the ceiling vent link you posted did not look like yours when it arrived... looked a lot cheaper... no way you could silicon where you did, as only the very outer lip of my vent touches the ceiling... yours looks much better!!!

With the fireplace removal, why didn't you insulate the cavity also to prevent heat loss? If you did later on, my bad.

Hi, how can I make hardwire when the modem is on the ground floor along with some free CAT6 cables, cables run through the ground floor to the attic, and the PC is on the 1st floor(floor above the ground floor) of the house? The client wants ethernet to get connected to his PC on 1st floor that is under the attic.

Thank you! I just installed and plumbed up my new hot water tap myself. I was worried I would have to call my Dad for help, but thankfully it was fairly straight forward.

Hi, quick question my old bathroom that i have finished refurbing in 8 days very proud of myself, had 22mm hot water pipe i have replaced this with normal 15mm, does that make any difference? Used the bath and the water seems to flow just fine so wasn't sure if there was a specific reason to have 22mm on the hot water feed in a bathroom?

I love the fact that you use the terminology that Every plumber comes across when working in the rewards, "How much more longer will it take" etc.. and your so calm with it, and you accept it and portray it in a comedic way.. show's the level of tolerance and patience that a plumber Builds😉 up along the years in understanding the frustrations of the job but expecting and accepting them so that there's never any issue between the client and contractor. Much respect for keeping the peace✌️🕊️ and not letting it bother you, which makes you an even more of a better individual.

I'm not sure about your placement of the extract vent. The location of the extraction point should be at the opposite end of the room to where the air ingress is - so diagonally across from the door. The air will always take the shortest path - so you're going to have the air coming under the door and going straight up the vent, leaving humid air up against the outside wall, which as it's the coldest part of the room, is likely to suffer from condensation despite the extractor.

What’s the logic for boarding the bathroom rather than tiling and are we going to get a video on that? I looked at boards for my last shower and was disappointed with choice and reviews so be interesting to hear your knowledge and experience!
