Crimea ist not occupied! its russian for hundreds of years, ever since the Ottoman Empire reliquinshed it to Russia.
GOD BLESS HIM
Great to hear this finally !
French Navy will also buy some Gowind corvettes as replacements for their old Floreal class frigates.
Literal Combat Ships? Could the robot have meant to say Littoral Combat Ships? Why can't the USNI, of all entities, not find one human sailor to narrate these videos?
E' FINITO IL DOMINIO AMERICANO
I'm so happy these exist. What a great, cost effective way to project sea power!!!! These can do anti submarine warfare, amphibious support, search and rescue missions, troop insertions!!!!! I would like more ships like this in the US navy! Not every ship has to be the Ford to be effective. Sometimes less is more. We are light on surface fleet numbers, we need cheaper ships that can get stuff done, like this one!
in french it's "Ladroïte" (like droïd, but with a T, do not prononce the "e").
Question does the British monarchy put food on Canadians tables? Does it pay my bills? Does it build me a home? Does the symbol keep me safe? The answer to all is no. But America 🇺🇸 does all of these I am North American we need to embrace our American identity monarchy divides us
Hahaha! Copium overdose. Maybe if you shout it loud enough, you'll convince yourself for a few mins. But not anyone else.
Great interview, through the struggle we keep pushing through . I’m happy to hear that clearances diver and vow capabilities are supported by our top brass by our commitments in OP Reassurance! DEEP SEA!
What was Milne Bay,where does that battle sit in themix
Yes, this exchange proves that "what if noodling" is mostly a waste of time. However, examining the assumptions of the participants is not "what if", nor is asking if the actions taken made sense logically and internally. Lundstrom's guess that Nagumo assumed he was already facing carrier planes early on should have been better examined. Everyone (including Nagumo) knows that single engine bombers ("carrier planes") can be staged on island landing strips. Evidence suggests the Japanese hoped for and expected (mistakenly) surprise at Midway and set up their sub screen and arranged their task forces to oppose an EXPECTED US reaction. Playing with this set up would NOT be a what if but an absurdity. The US, in contrast, confidently expected to ambush those making the air attack on Midway. The real coup, of course, was the "code breaking" and shrewd accumulation of intelligence and making sense of it. Rather than being a miracle, Midway appears to be a closely-figured gamble (and desperate would not be too strong either) by an inferior force (materially and in terms of training) using surprise as a leveling agent and getting a few breaks. God bless those American dive bombers and all those who served. No "what if" is needed.
On the thumbnail is the german RV "Polarstern"
I think Indian Navy is going to have difficulty getting foreign components going forward if it wants to reliably maintain such warships. Engines, sonars (especially towed arrays), radars will all have to be made in-house as they wont be available when you need them and refit or refurbishment will be problematic
Good video
In winter, people can walk across the ice from the US to Russia at the Bering Strait.
Not so much as before… ice cannot stay frozen in warmer than usual temperatures
Batch III should be nuclear submarine.
Freidman and zeihan are right. No nation has a real chance of taking over. China cant export enough and it doesnt consume enough. Russia just doesnt have industry and without oil it be fucked. Also china and russia have populations on the decline and can't get the investments and trade deals they need to do well. China has one chance to try and be number and itll involve literally kicking the us out of the indo-pacific and taking Taiwan literally will do nothing.
I question Friedman's explanation of the Great Depression. He seems to overemphasize post-WWI US exports to Europe while underestimating the immensity of US domestic commerce. The automobile, radio, and aviation were just a few of of the new technologies fueling growth. The Twenties were called 'Roaring' for a reason. It seems obvious that over-leveraging by our financial sector was inevitably bound to collapse credit, not a dearth of international trade. Cascading effects included the calling in of loans by the US in Germany in 1929, which led to the ruin of Weimar and the rise of Hitler (and not the infamous 1923 German hyperinflation).
The S-80+ sub is leading candidate of 75i submarine project. It is project that build and acquire six large conventional attack sub for Indian Navy. Main contender is Type 212CD sub by TKMS of Germany. I wish S-80+ will win the bid.
When your enemy is china 🇨🇳, you can never take it easy.
The US naval procurement is a national disgrace
Good luck and success !
Good video

The little zipper heads weren't meant to be on water
let's see now "south china sea". huh, what the f was the u.s. navy doing in the south china sea? that would be kind of like china's navy deploying intelligence collecting drones in the gulf of mexico.
How hard would it be to install a couple hundred pounds of C4 inside one of these drones? Oh...you want to steal our stuff?! Got something for you
WELCOME

LCM with 200 troops? Not viable
Obviously, we're getting only one side of the story.
I think the Landing Craft Medium is going to be a disaster. The WW2 era Landing Craft Infantry Large (LCI-L) was not well liked and was ditched in the 50s. The problem was that they are flat bottom ships and are difficult to un-beach. The ships were not good at sea due to the flat bottom and were very slow to beached and un-beach because they required setting rear anchors and using spil winches to pull the ship backwards.
The US military should reconsititue a proper Maritime Sealift Command with a proper Maritime Prepositioning Force. You could build 30 of these ships, they could only help the Corps rather than the entire US military, and still it would not be enough.
Unless you have air dominance, these will be useless. The Ukrainian war has shown that loud and clear.
When I was told that PhD meant piled high & deep I laughed and didn't believe it. Halfway through this I believe!
😊 HI
I agree that the Navy should order several additional ESBs to increase the capability of the Marine Littoral Regiments. The ESBs can land the Marines on the beaches with the MV-22s and CH-53Js and CH-53Ks. With a significant number of BAES ADLs on the mission deck and containerized launchers on the flight, they could add significant depth to the supply of missiles for defensive and offensive purposes, as well as the capabillity of dozens of HIMARS for launching GMLRS and PrSMs as well as many Rogue Fires launchers for NSMs so the ESBs can be turned into a form of arsenal ships.

The only drawback is the number of submarines to be comissioned: only 4 of them. It is a critical low number. The Spanish Armada will need at least 8 of them.
The ESD/ESB is too slow. We can do better than the ESD/ESB.
These ships are large and undefended. Without significant additional weapons and sensors they wont last a week in a hot war with China . This whole EABO concept seems suicidal to me.
Don't model aerodynamics from nature, model its colors.
take a OSV add a single LCAC and have a small LPD..... then Articulated Tug Barge it, slam a causeway on the beach so a EPF can resupply or push a fuel barge to resupply the land but also any passing ships.
I served on the first ship of this class as a BM. It was an awesome experience.
USMC 1974-78. In 1976 I was in the group of the first Marines to deploy on the new USS Tarawa (LHA-1). We thought that was like a cruise ship over the LPH's, LPD's, LSD's, and LST's of the day. Now I understand that the LHD's are even larger than they LHA's? One concern that I have is these large "Gators" and the Super Carriers. I know that CVN's are pretty well protected against ASW but not sure about an amphib group. WIth more smaller vessels, you can lose one and not be affected too badly. You lose an LHD to a modern torpedo and that is a huge loss. Same with Carriers. With the F-35 coming into play, would the U.S. not be better off with more smaller carriers? Do something similar to the Brit's. A ski jump instead of a costly catapult system which has a high degree of maintenance? If a Cat breaks down, your launch capability is reduced. The ASW and transport could be handled by a CH-53 or the UH-60. I am still undecided on the Osprey. I think IMHO leaner and meaner is the way to go.
I had the honor of studying and graduating here to serve my country in times of peace and times of war. The highest privilege and greatest pride a man can have. Go Navy!
