What a lovely guy I love this show respect
👊🏁
Don't hide until it all finishes xx
Interesting when Rog mentioned that his mum sponsored him when he was a young rider. When I rode schoolboy scrambles in the late 70s we were a single parent family on a low income but my mum paid for my fuel, my entries and marshalled for me week after week. Without mums, where would we be, eh?
Truly mega reminder for folk!!
@@TorqMoto thanks for a great podcast.
Had to laugh at the comment about the Double jumps at Worcester MX school. Roger taught me to do double jumps there in '86. I didn't realise he'd only just taught himself!
Great!
Thank you!!!
Great man and a great listen
He is a legend d
Roger is such a top guy
Correct
If my memory serves me well my dad Ray Barber (Lead Mechanic of Brian Leask Husky Team) built a really trick 125 Husky for him circa 75/76 that had the carb inlet in to the crank! Air leak made it over run (My brother had it for a while).....Great days...Roger talks so well and really engaging....Top Bloke....And Huskvarna is town where Husqvarna were made. Went to the museum last year, there was a Mikkola 360 my dad built the gearbox in.
Didn't he ride the 125GPs on a Husqvarna?
Very cool!
Love Roger too, like Mansel needs the tache!I remember you at hssc club in the experts with the yamoto van, Roger and dave Watson did a yamaha reveal in Crawley in a hall , 82 or 83?
@@zoomerzoomer-jn7rf Indeedy we had a Merc van supported by Yamoto which was the Yamaha side of Brian Leask Husqvarna business. Happy days back then.☺
Give harv a few beers, sit back and listen to his tales all night, would be an awesome evening,,, 👍
Deal!
Roger is a star. I went to one of the first MX schools he did with Tim Matthews in '85, I crashed on the final day and Roger got my squashed pipe fixed. Saw him later that year at the Cradley Heath Speedway 'Supercross' meeting when he was still on crutches for his hips.
He is a great man!! No doubt!!
Would love to see the old Trials and Motocross wallpaper .
We will have to get a photo!!
@@TorqMoto Definately ,also Rogers comment about golf courses was spot on , I have always said they are a waiste of a good MX track !!
Great stuff as always so nice to look back at the good old days in what was the best era of scrambles and motocross it would be nice if more people listened to your podcast there missing a good old watch
mate meet conrad at Ernée last year just after his second race he was completely fucked after that race and still gave us the time of the day spoke to us so kindly and shook the hand of me mate little boy lovey guy so humble in fact the whole british crew was great , we live in france since 94 we not rich so we don't get to see the british guys often and they really made our day big up you all
We agree!!
Always Remember meeting Conrad a few times when he was a wee nip, he rode the track I call my baby, the awesome maisemore mx. He's Been there a few times training with Justin Morris. Then the one race a year we have he entered.amd was a joy to watch. Awesome guy, bloody good rider. 🚜 ,, Jeff peret brilliant as usual 👍
He is a top lad!!
He absolutely deserves a ride in mxgp one season to get back in the groove get that mojo back and do them the next season 🏁🇬🇧🙏
Conrad is a really nice guy.And Britain's biggest hope on the international mx scene, We should route for him as much as possible
Brilliant episode Jeff 🙌🏻
That green hat plug is your ticket to AMA Motocross for a round or two !!! This year ?? Conrad, you have to be a top 3-10 placed MXGP top dog, At GPs do you struggle with a mental issue that you don't fully understand yet, you have to believe you belong within the top 5 ?? Every British, especially ex riders, would love to see you take MXGP by storm, you have what it takes imo, also festival bog cleaner !!! 😂 AMA then MXGP ?? Imagine having DT in your corner at GP's 🎉
Great man in the van, he's going well 👏 👍
Yes, thanks
Another great woc dob interview
Thanks!
Fuck me though what memories when if you was winning A British you was one of the best in the world
He was/ is a flier!!
a gentelman well done Rob l also got to ride namur not race it but very special
My boy and I got to meet Matt and his dad earlier on this year out on there practice track, both were absolute gents and really didn’t need to take the time to come and chat but they did! Made my lads day, please don’t ever change Matt!
The MX denationas story was a corker , who would have thought politics would prevent Great Britain entering its best team !!??
That’s the ACU for you, stubborn old dinosaurs
Great. Memories from the best era of motocross great listen as always
Thanks for listening
My first time watching a GP, 1993 foxhills. After the GP I was walking to the exit near the start area. And heard a bike on the track. I ran back over to watch. It was rob on Gregs bike. Great watching rob test. And then a couple of weeks later it was in DBR . Rob wasn't keen on albe's suspension if memory serves me right.
I saw Thorpe on Everts’ factory Kawasaki at fox hill in 94 after the GP, I think that he was testing it for DBR too.
mr andrews your passion is unbeleavable well done ,
Great chap!
Definitely a pleasure 🎉🎉
Mega work!!
Very enjoyable again....thanks. More confirmation that '97 Cr250 was horrible. Made me a Yamaha fan for life 😂
You and me both!
29 minutes you say Kurt was unlucky when he was born but you also have to remember Kurt chased the biggest challenges like take 93 for example he could of walked that 500 championship but he chose to go where the best in the world where! And tell me one other person that came out of the 500 class in 93 and had success like Kurt did! Nobody, look how it went for Lilles, Kurt challenged himself constantly! Unsung hero!
40 minutes and you boys are on it! I will shut my mouth haha
Sports stars leave a better legacy than rockstars is going to end up as some sort of meme surely…
Sure thing!!
why does the thumbnail look like Jeffro is sniffing his fingers and Matt has a big smile on his face 😂😂
Good catch….
@48mins, the fact that it was so much effort to get there back in the day is probably why the racing was better! They had put so much into getting there that they weren’t going to leave anything on the table
Very good point!
Wob, you say people can follow riders on instagram now, in the 80s anyone was in touching distance of these guys when they walked around the paddock! You could bump into a Rob Andrews if you took your kids to a gp back then and that experience would put the motocross sparkle in a kids eyes for life. These days you can bump into do not pass this tape signs if you pay paddock entry fee! The riders attitudes and availability to fans back then are what kept the crowds coming. Trucks got bigger, tape went up, attendance went down!
It’s true!
Brilliant interview
Another great interview boys .kurt some great stories and good luck at mammoth .hope to see you at world vets .
Can't wait!
Wobs, pipe down and let us hear what your guest has to say please
We love Wobs because he has the stories to add on and is usually present for the guest stories at the place and time!
Great stuff chaps could listen all day great stories great guest in kurt
Thank you!
❤
Wob, let your guest answer the questions! That's why they're there, and that's what viewers want to hear. Great to see Kurt lookong so well amd still racing.
Noted!
Very common complaint.
@@matheson68 The fact that you call DOCWOB a "Goggle rep" shows your lack of understanding for the time served in the industry. Poor show sir.
What the hell, Kurt doesn't look any older than in the 90s 😲
Madness right!
Could you please ask how much riding kit they would use in a season, helmets boots, shirts, jeans and gloves, is it all new for every race or do they have to clean it and get it ready for the following weekend ❤
Awesome video, it's nice with out the bad language 😅.
Glad you liked it!
Would love to see you boys do an evening somewhere with Kurt ,Dt rob Andrews anda few of the others would be brilliant hearing stories of the travelling circuit of the 500 GPS
I see an interview Kurt did .in 88 89 his contract was 250,000 a year .bloody good money even for today's wages .
Wob please watch off track podcast, this is how it’s done . Just let the guest answer the questions
@@Gpx111 VMXDN is the place and the time!
I was at hawkstone the day his gate never dropped 92 i think did he not lose championship with 1 or 2 points that year bet he wished he had stayed out
I had the pleasure of being coached by Rob for a week at Bryan Wade's school and I'd support his views on past and present mx, I've now moved onto downhill mountain bike racing and similar things are happening there, all the tv rights have been bought by warner bros and they have dictated changes to the sport which have been detrimental.
Money, the route of all evil
Good young man 4 sure. Enjoyed him growing up on Tom's channel and seeing him now is awesome.. Onward! ✌️😉
You and me both!
Lil bill
Fantastic 💪👊😉

From around 81 to 83 we used to ride at the cotswold club , and twice Robbie came over from south Africa on a quack , and he had colin dugmore with him , it was awesome watching them , but i always remember the first time i see him in the adults was at Lyng in 1986 , he was phenomenal , and i have always been a quack supporter since 1978
