  I work on these coasters at Cedar Point in the engineering and maintenance department. For Top Thrill, all 6 trains wheel systems are being remachined and retro-fitted with a high tinsel steel sub-structure with a much more innovative and heat-flexible system with a low count polymer and vinyl base. We've had the secondary wheel system already in place and manufactured just in case we came to a quality issue. The ride will be reopened in about 21 working days and is ahead of schedule. 👍

  I was just at Cedar Point today. The trains were on the track but the wheels were not on them but I went into the Top Thrill 2 store and asked the workers and I told them I'll be back up at the end of June or July And the workers working in the store said there confident that it will be reopen by The end of June or July !!! So that was a positive sign ! I hope that there right !!! I'm going back up to Cedar point July 11th and im hoping to be able to ride it by then !!!!!

  I honestly don’t think it already failed. TT2’s wheels need to get replaced since of the stuff that has happened since. Millennium Force has had wheels replaced a bunch of times, so this could be TT2’s Millenium Force Era. Hopefully they can fix stuff quickly to get it open.

  I for one feel that they should just keep I305 as is, if only because it has become iconic due to it's sheer audacity. Perhaps we the coaster enthusiast community should do an annual gathering, in order to show that while, yes, I305 is ridiculously intense, there is indeed a plurality of the riding population who is willing to take the risk of passing out, and that it is still worth keeping around (also, I've heard that if you book in groups, it's also cheaper for flights/lodgings, and that can make a difference, especially with how much everything costs these days). This will also give more opportunity to enthusiasts who right now can't afford the expenses.

  Its funny, the year I worked at Cedar point was the year the dragster debuted (2003). I was doing traffic control and that was also the year of the Northeast power Outage of August 14, 2003. Now, I am going back to work for them when the Dragster 2 Debuts. I'll be cleaning employee dorms this time though. Proud to scrub toilets if it is at Cedar Point though lol...

  I understand for now it'll stay as an Intamin coaster, but Cedar Fair could get it re-tracked tracked by Chance Morgan probably at the same time changing it to a Hyper Coaster because Cedar Fair is done with Intamin, after they ripped them off giving them what they didn't want.

  @@ClebyHerris I'm glad I was able to get my rides in on it. I know it's New Jersey state law that the OTSR are there, and the hard aren't bad but I wish they'd replace them with the soft straps. Station Wait did a video on LSMs (Unfortunately KZread won't let us put links in the comments anymore😡) that showed LSMs are capable of achieve the intensity of a hydraulic launch. I'm really surprised that in the 2020s engineers haven't figured out how to get a launch system that's as powerful as hydraulic or compressed air launches while making it as reliable as LSMs. Which LSMs haven't been pushed to their limits yet (and have the capability) and the acceleration of some LSM coasters like Red Force, ISpeed, and Junker isn't that much slower than that of some hydraulic launches. I really wish they'd keep TTD with one launch and just crank LSMs up and they can achieve the speed needed to clear the top hat.
