    More powerful if you jump/slide a bit throw the low kick same time

  • @JasonNishime

    You can definitely get more power that way but this is more to demonstrate the difference in striking surface and chambered vs unchambered leg. There are other footwork variations that may not be as powerful but still very effective leaving the opponent more vulnerable. Thanks for watching

    What it he doesn’t pop back up?

  • @HaruRL
    @HaruRL2 ай бұрын

    The pop up doesn’t really matter. Yanking someone forward is what matters. When you pull someone forward in a fight, or down, the natural instinct is to gain distance or to use a take down. A. He steps back This leads to the guy getting his legs sweeper. B. He tries to perform a takedown This leaves his neck open and you can try to put him in a chokehold. -- I have very limited knowledge on fighting, and this is just my best guesses. Anyone feel free to correct me.

  • @JasonNishime
    @JasonNishime2 ай бұрын

    Depending on how hard you pull them forward they may not pop up immediately but in most cases if you push/ pull someone off base they will need to correct it before doing anything else. If he falls forward or attempts to shoot you will have enough distance at this range to react to either defend the shot and/ or look for a front headlock. You can also create this same movement and hit the foot sweep by pushing your opponent but this is not common against a trained person.

    Your comment about styles in karate is very perceptive. We all need to find what works for us, so cross training is important. I don't like Muay thai stance if i'm surround by 3 or 2 attacker it could be very stationary. I use to think side stance was ridicules till machida change my life ever since watching his first fight.

  • @JasonNishime
    @JasonNishime2 ай бұрын

    It is possible to be quick and mobile from a Thai stance but it seems to be rare. I saw saenchai sparring 2-3 people at a time when I was training in Thailand. Granted it was sparring and not real fight but his dynamic speed changes and foot sweeps kept everyone from touching him until he let them. It was quite impressive and opened my mind to being able to use multiple styles of movement and footwork in any given situation. Thanks for the support

I don't know I wish I could test it out. like I done TKD/Western kickboxing/ Muay Thai with Muay Boran it's was strange they didn't bother to tell me. if was Muy Mat. i did leth wei and Khmer kun/Viet kickboxing/Yaw yaw/Sanda. Great question. I’ll give 2 general answers. 1st this is mainly meant for self defense applications in which I would not want to go to the ground. 1 vs 1 ground control all day but I’ve been in enough situations where it turns into multiple attackers out of seemingly nowhere. In this sense he could potentially step around but I would be able to utilize striking to slow him down if necessary. 2nd in a purely grappling context this wouldn’t be the best way to control someone as there isn’t much leading to a finish. For example if I were competing I would use the arm drag to secure back position and look for the takedown. This would hopefully prevent that situation all together. If you watch the full video the goal is to show how grappling technique can be applied in the context of karate. This is just a short clip that I found useful for people making that transition and some things to avoid. If you’d like more bjj specific content I’m open to ideas as the channel is still new. Let me know if there’s something you’d like me to cover and I’ll do my best to answer any questions you might have Thanks for supporting the channel
