3 Most Powerful Strikes in Yamanni Ryu?

Is Yamanni Ryu more than an aesthetic? I have 3 of my jiujitsu students give an honest reaction to the 3 basic strikes in Yamanni Chinen Ryu Bojustu to see if there is any real power in our style. This was a lot of fun to make and I apologize for the camera being out of frame for some shots. If you enjoy this video please like and subscribe for more martial arts content.

Sensei J really needs to start a tutorial on KZread. Amazing understanding of structure and the use of it.

Is there even a way to do safe sparring with a bo?

We’ve done some with padded Bo. There are competitions that utilize this method but it becomes like any other sport where the objective is to score points vs real combat applications. It is still better than nothing. It will teach you to utilize footwork, timing and distance management which are all things that can’t be trained solo
