  Hello, thank you for the video. I have a question about maintenance fee so if you can answer I would appreciate it. I will start selling on amazon in US. I will launch a product that is similar to a product on amazon. I checked and they have utility patent that expired on 08/30/2019 due to non-payment of maintenance fee. As far as I know they have 2 years window to pay the maintenance fee. Its been almost 5 years now they didnt pay the fee. So when I start selling they will want to stop me using their patent. My question is: Can this abandoned patent be revived? If yes then I dont want to start selling on amazon. Thank you

  Very clear and concise video. Thank you! I have a Utility Patent - Method. I believe that several companies are infringing on it. Basically, it's a method for communicating geolocation. Could you point me in the right direction to get an evaluation?

  just to clarify what you said... the provisional patent offsets the costs of the non-provisional patent? so if the non-provisional patent costs $10,000, but i chose the provisional which costs $5000, once the year passes for he provisional patent, id only pay $5000 to receive the non-povisional?

  I have an idea for an invention that will sell out fast. You know the O Cedar mop and bucket with the spinner you step on to wring out the mop? We need a manual washing machine that works like that. If there is a cyber attack or major black out, how will we wash our clothes? And think of all the tiny homes that want to live off grid? I know this idea is a winner. We really only need the strainer/spinner device to fit over a bath tub and the bath tub can be the basin for the washing machine. You run the water, add detergent, soak the clothes than agitate the clothes with the spinner. There should be a way to raise or lower the spinner whether you need an agitator or strain to shake off the water. The, you can either run the shower over the clothes to rinse them or a water hose but then they will need to be spun again to throw off the excess water untill all the detergent and dirt have been rinsed out. I bet this will get your clothes leaner than an electric machine

  If I produce my product without patenting it, can someone else patent it and then sue me? In such a case, I can obviously prove that I have been producing that product before that person has patented it. But I don't know how the law decides in such a situation.

  Hi OC Patent Lawyer, I have an idea for a product I will be selling within a year. I don't want to patent it. But neither do I want others to be able to patent it and block me from selling it. Where can I publish this invention now, where the idea is least likely to be seen, but will show up in results when patent attorneys search for prior art if someone else attempts to file a patent for it between now and when I start selling?

  With all of that and they still take it. They do not tell you their names, address and can even change their official names. Plus, what some people do, is that when you are an expert and you engage in a development exercise, You start discussing with your knowledge, they first deny that you explanation is correct. They would attend a training room via different companies, however, they have mutual social interest. So, they deny your explanation and the group of interest, listens to what you had said, record it down, then when it comes to pitching they come up and present your idea and then, then get told, exactly, perfect. The idea is now their idea. NDA are also breakable and it is extremely easy to manipulate and it can be subdivided and taken in parts.

  Hi. I was handed an NDA that has no expiration date and is based in California. Can I consider that even if it lacks an expiration date, it is still valid for only three years after the final day of employment, as the laws provide that you must file suit no later than three years after the date of misappropriation? And that means NDA is enforceable only for 3 years? I'm hesitant to sign an NDA that is indefinite, but I believe that's not the case in California? Maybe it doesn't have any dates to scare people off? I understand that the 3-year rule does not apply to trade secrets, but disclosing trade secrets might land anyone in hot water at any time, anyplace, even without an NDA right? I'm not looking for legal advice, it doesn't have to be completely accurate information, i will probably sign it anyways, just wanted to discuss. Thank you.

  How about Provisional patent applications before applying for the actual patent to "reserve" and have a smaller spend to protect me while I am marketing the product? Cause I want to do crowdfunding but I have no money to do a full blown patent application and would plan to use the crowdfunding to fund the full cost of the patent application.
