Thank you for having this interview. I was confirmed by the Archbishop in 1979 and served Mass at SSPX chapels for about 40 years including serving for the Archbishop three times. The SSPX has been proven to fulfill our obligation. The evil blanket statements made above bashing the SSPX are clearly wrong.
I would like to take a slightly different angle on this. Personally, I think that real friendship requires just as much if not more sacrifice than romantic relationships? Why do I say this? Many people abandon their friends once they start dating. That type of friendship is only a means to an end. Yet those who see a value in having friends even when dating or married are going to have to make sacrifices to keep them. Experience in the family and with friends definitely helps prepare for later in life. But marriage was often arranged in the past because of its complexity being too difficult for only private individual interpretation of best suited to each other. As for Brideshead Revisited, I would certainly agree that people should never assume something beyond platonic just because of a friendship being close. However, I think the author himself made it clear that the story of those two characters did involve sin. He wasn't saying it was a good thing. There were definitely enough hints that this was the case in the story itself.

Can I stay Catholic after THIS? Thousands of priests raping kids and you remain confidently Catholic. But calling for greater grace and mercy to gays has you wonder if you can stay Catholic? The Catholic obsession with and relentless persecution of gays is demonic. The heterosexual inclination to believe gay sin is worse than straight sin is demonic. The Catholic refusal to offer love and grace to gays (as you give to yourselves) is demonic. I am so grateful that the heart of Jesus towards gays is so different from your own.

A.D., early 7 Churches in Asia Minor) never raised ARMS to fight and try to save their lives, they instead chose DEATH without violence through MARTYRDOM for the sake of Christ Jesus and the Kingdom of God... "For whosoever wants to keep his life safe shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for the MY (Christ) sake and the Kingdom of God (Gospel) shall gain and find it (life back again)." (ref. Matt. 16:25)... The Roman Catholic Church did the opposite in the past, whenever they find and see THREATS and ANNIHILATION, they always bear/raise ARMS to whatever cost just to expel/repel/ remove/banish their external and internal enemies by any means... as if God can not defend His CHURCH from any Threats and Annihilation without the Christians raising ARMS... QUESTION... When the Man of Lawlessness/Son of Perdition/666/AntiChrist (Worst Enemy of Mankind) arrives to persecute/murder the People of God... Will the Roman Catholic Church still encourage/support the Christians to bear/raise ARMS to fight and defend their Basic Human RIGHT to LIVE just like what the Catholic Church had done before?

Even though I broadly agree with you and don't subscribe to gender nonsense, there's a few things I can say in opposition. (This is a first. I feel naughty.) Firstly, I would be cautious with learning about things from the 'leading thinkers' on any particular subject, because one: they may have an agenda (or others are using their work for an agenda), two: they didn't have the same knowledge as we do now on a lot of these topics, and three: it's good to look at things from another perspective, something outside the box, these people aren't without flaws. Secondly, although people like John Money & Judith Butler popularized gender theories, they were not the origins of it. Not every culture throughout history has thought the same as us. Thirdly, yes feelings and objective reality are two different things, but feelings are still real. A feeling is as real as your physical body, it's just different. Love is real. Awkwardness and confidence are real, etc. They obviously affect our reality, and our body. They are our reality in that moment. We're not robots. And if someone feels one way, that's okay, good for them. But yes feeling like you are such and such doesn't necessarily make it so, and no one else has to subscribe to your feelings or use the words you say they ought to. There's also a few arguments other people (not me) would make too. Such as saying conservative views on gender are restrictive, while progressive views on gender are inclusive. So it's not about conservatives vs progressives, but restrictions vs no restrictions. I would argue however they are restrictive themselves, such as with free speech for example. Another argument others (not me) would say, is that sex IS a social construct. That is legitimately what some are saying. I would say the language is the social construct, while the biological markers are still a reality. In conclusion... I live and sleep in my car. But I'm okay with that. Goodnight.

The number of Men with no friends is actually much higher than reported. Men with no friends don't really talk to people or get mental help or get asked a bunch of questions about their Quality of Life. I've never been quizzed about anything.

The vast majority of people are still monogamous, most people are also dating someone, if you are single it is 100% your own fault

Declared polygamy is still rare (outside our growing Muslim communities) - but casual sex, cheap hook-ups and flings are the same thing, and fairly universal... I believe an encounter with the divine is literal. God does not choose everyone, He gives options for everyone to choose Him, but when selects someone its a bad time but for the greater good. God loves us and cares about our needs naturally, but those who are spiritual connect to Him more personally.

Who wants to get married to a women, cough cough, I mean the "state". That contract is between you and Uncle Sam, not you and your date Samantha. Women were the majority to screw the pooch in the 80s-2010s. After that the contract itself was in decline, now the churches need customers and that is why their making contracts with "non-traditional" marriages. I think they will need to pivot to funerals soon. Grave days ahead, figuratively and literally.

Also, if the Law of Moses permitted something, it doesn't mean that the permitted thing wasn't wrong. Jesus addressed this with the Pharisees in Matthew 19:3-9: 3 And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?” 4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one’? 6 So they are no longer two but one. Realized how lucky I am. I’m married to an awesome woman, have a really good friendship with my brother and one other good friend, a couple other friends/acquaintances, and a couple colleagues I really enjoy being around. We are now thinking about having kids, but still are unsure of it because of where society seems to be headed I think not using social media outside of KZread has helped. It’s made me not care about shallow connections with a bunch of people.

I feel like I am just now recovering from realising I was lost in nominalism without ever realising what it was. Atheists like I was, use ideas like "truth" and "good" but never explain how those things can exist if the universe is just atoms bouncing off each other. Explaining the existence of the visible world by handwaving about the Big Bang is one thing, but they completely leave out explaining the existence of the invisible world.
