Don't worry about style. That is not important. What is important is that you are happy with the results and you feel you are home. You decorate with you in mind your colors, likes, art and furniture. You are creating your home so it reflects you. If you are happy with the results, that is what matters. I love the art work. The colors in the rooms tie into the artwork and brings the rooms together.

As to your cat, clip it's claws when needed, get scratchers and place about the house especially near the sofa so it scratches the scratcher instead of your sofa and put a blanket on the sofa, when you don't have guests which I learned from a friend. She had three.cats and two large sofas and I asked how she kept the cats from scratching it. She put blankets on it when there were no guests. I did that with my futon, but used two comforters and they scratched the blanket and the futon was fine.

Thank you for opening up a conversation about Air BnB. I'm one of those people who wishes Air BnB would go away. I live in California, one of the most inflated housing markets in the US. I've been a renter most of my life with some periods of home ownership in between. I'm currently a home owner. While I recognize that housing prices here were out of reach for most people long before Air BnB came along, I believe that the shift from long term rentals to "vacation" rentals exacerbated the problem of even finding housing, much less finding "affordable" housing. (Affordable housing here means paying 75-80% of your income for housing and trying to make the rest of your life work with the remaining amount.) I also believe there's a correlation between the decrease in rental availability, the increase in housing prices, and a corresponding increase in homelessness with its associated societal problems. While I admit that I've stayed in Air BnB accommodations, many of them were substandard compared to staying in regulated accommodations such as hotels and motels. Yes, Air BnB often offers kitchen facilities, more privacy and a more "homey" atmosphere than a hotel or motel, and that can definitely be a plus. Aside from the above, in many of your videos you talk about how you want a simple life. Here's my question: Wouldn't your life be simpler if you just found a long term tenant who takes care of your place rather than having to hustle constantly for renters, having to clean the place every few days while being on call to answer guest questions? I believe the accounting on short term rentals is more complicated than for a long term rental too. Therefore, when you factor in the fees and wages involved in constant advertising, booking, monitoring guest needs, constant cleaning, upkeep and accounting involved in hosting short term rentals, it seems to me you're making your life more complicated not simpler. When you factor in all the work you're having to do to host short term guests, are you really getting a better ROI than if you just rented to responsible tenants for less money long term? It's not a matter of being a "bad" person by hosting short term rentals, it really has to do with what aligns with your view of the world and how much work you're willing to put into being a host for short term rentals vs being a landlord for long term rentals. Trust your heart on this one. If you value community and long term relationships, perhaps becoming a landlord is a better choice for you.

Such a quaint beautiful place on the outside. It would have been nice to restore at least one of the fireplaces and expose some of that fabulous stonework... somewhere inside. It kinda lost its charm when u walk in. But, it's a nice modern house on the inside.

What a fantastic Tiny house! You did a great job with the reno! Would you mind telling me what colour you used for the accent walls? Looks great! As far as the rug and coffee table go: I like them! Not the biggest fan of the pink gradient, but you're spot on in going with something different to stand apart from all the metal and wood you already have.

House is very good for a young boy like you. I think about my grandmothers. Both of them are barely leaving the living room. They invite their guests in the living room. They eat and sleep there mostly. Anyway, for them it would be hard to use the stairs for using the bathroom. For the old age, bathroom is the most visited area of the room I must say. I mean, if this was one of my grandmother's house I would never imagine to place living room upstairs. But a living room and kitchen downstairs never be good or useful or aesthetic like they are in the video. It's lucky that the house has a young owner like you. I love it. The most beautiful detail for me was them before pictures on the wall. Love it.
