it really reminds me of Detroit. Thanks to the great politicians that run the city. Oh wait comparing Detroit to this city is an insult to Detroit itself.

When you are highlighting gas prices/house averages/age groups/etc, please include in your verbal narrative the year you are noting/filming these figures. Your videos are enjoyable and helpful, however as years go by it would be nice to allow for some probable fluctuation in current market figures.

some of those trailer parks look well maintained. not the greatest place to live but some what afordable housing with partly ownership but the owners seem to have a noose over the owners with cost of spot and could sell the property to a developer and leave people with low income in desparate need of afordable housing. I am surprised that with so much unused farm land that a land owner does not develop a modern mobile type or tiny house afordable housing useing alternative energy and heat pumps.

the street with the cathedral of tall trees is pretty rare as mot have been destroyed by dutch elm disease beetle. noddaks extreme cold has kept the beetles away but with climate change winters have become milder and beetles are more succesful.

the rally for womens health was a demonstration for womens rights to healthcare. the protesters were against womens choice of birth control and reproductive health care. both sides do not protest. protest means against.

I was living in Iowa City in 2008 during the major flooding of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City (the flooding you referred to in this video). I had actually just moved from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City a few months prior to the flood. Those were some crazy times. The flood destroyed all of downtown Cedar Rapids, which prompted most businesses to move out of the area. This is why downtown Cedar Rapids is so desolate nowadays. It was a very bustling epicenter prior to the floods. I hope that maybe one day Cedar Rapids will have a viable downtown again, but people are still way too weary to be moving into downtown for business and such due to the high risk of it flooding again with the rivers being in such close proximity to downtown.

The purpose of the skywalks in both Cedar Rapids and Des Moines are to keep pedestrians out of the roadways so traffic keeps moving at a steady pace. It has very little to do with weather, as most of the skywalks in both cities are not temperature controlled.
