do you experience the focus issue that happens with footage from the Ace Pro? has that been fixed by Insta360? you seem very sharp at arm's length in your footage but there are a number of creators who say that the minimum focal length of the Ace Pro is too long to keep the creator in focus when shooting at arm's length.

Thank you for this video! I'm waiting for livestreaming support on the camera, and Dolby Vision support on the desktop app. Hope they arrive soon! I also noticed that I cannot preview the X4 on my Apple Watch like I could with the X2. I’m guessing this functionality was removed in order to sell the GPS remote.

Well for me the 4k ist useless, i stepped from 1440p down to 1080p because the battery can only record 15minutes. And for karting its Shit because i need more time, Before the camera automatically turns off because the battery is empty. I was able to record for 10 minutes and after a 10 minute break I could only record for 6-7 minutes (at 1440p 50fps) now I stepped down to 1080p 50fps and i Hope now the battery Last a Bit longer
The Go 3S 4K video Is very comparable to the Hero 12 and Action 4, it looks nice and sharp. But I noticed 4k in freeframe mode is not actually "freeframe" because it does not shoot in circular/spherical format (as in the GO 3 and GO 2) since it’s now using a 3:4 sensor. You can change the aspect ratio on the app, but cannot reframe the image. If you enable the 360 horizon-lock feature the footage is heavily cropped-in and you end up with a video quality close to 1080P HD (even though is exported at 4k). With the GO 3 and GO 2 I feel I have more editing flexibility and higher export resolution in freeframe mode (even though is maxed out to 2560p x 1440p). Great comparison BTW.

I don't think you mentioned that there's no external audio input of any kind on the Go 3s, not even bluetooth. That is the biggest drawback as far as I am concerned. Otherwise this is a very good comparison review, thanks.

Great comparison video. I hope in the future GoPro produce another GoPro Session in the same form factor as the GO3/3s without the over heating issues. GoPro's image quality is much better than the Insta360 and DJI. The only thing separating them is the GO3/3s' ease of use but low image quality. In addition low light shouldn't be a problem now since DJI and GoPro already solved that. Insta360 just needs to catch up so they can improve and be more competitive. Most people buy action cams because of the size and image quality. Insta360 got one part of that right but not the other one.
Why didnt you include the ace pro?
Or the Ace? Which is weird because this is the only channel I've seen that dod a comparison video between the Ace and the Ace Pro. Most other channels seemed to completely ignore it.

Considering the size and the versatility, maybe the DJI Action 2 is the competitor to the GO3s? But however, great image quality for such a small camera.
Good point, it's certainly very similar in its use cases.
The Action 2 is a forgotten little giant in these comparisons. However, I hope Insta360 will consider to develop the idea of the GO2. Action 2 and GO2 are the real Pocket Cameras. The GO3/3S with their Action Pods don’t. 😀

The ace now costs like $185 in China and ace pro $ 315.
Ace pro is actually better but for me the 10 bit color in action 4 is game changing so i'll go with action 4

Do people no longer use gyro stabilized mounts? I have a couple of Hero7 Blacks that I intend to use until they are destroyed and with that revision, the image stabilization really got pretty good, but I still think it is a little deficient for mountain biking. Could be I just need to have a better look at the rest of my settings. But I recently was wondering if a gyro of some sort would be appropriate but I don't see too many people talking about them. Maybe with the latest GoPros it's just not worth it anymore?
LOL No 4k 60??? What is the point of this, why not just wait for the Go4 and put 4k 60 in that. This will probably just piss off current go3 users and i don't see anyone upgrading for such poultry specs.
My GO 2 can fully lock the horizon regardless of the angle. They removed that on the 3?
No - it's still there, but only in FreeFrame Mode
You can but you have to use their app to do it i think, hence why i never use it.
