I haven't finished your video yet but I had to stop to write a few words. Thanks for making my decision stronger to buy this one over the GoPro 12.

Thank you for the video, but I haven't understand few things from it. 1) the app for the editing is only for smartphone or is there a version for pc too? I believe that processing a free video mode with a smartphone could take ages, am I wrong? 2) in the Time Lapse mode, can you take raw photos to edit later in post or you can only take video?

I also have Ace Pro. It's a pity that we cannot use Horizon Lock in Pure Video mode.

60fps or 30fps if you want to shoot in HDR

great review the 557 thumb-up is mine - I'd like to know if the file extension is a native file so you have to use it only with the app or if it is a universal file that can be worked with any video software. and the zoom that for me is very interesting I guess it has only two positions and I mean it has no intermedial range zoom and I wonder why if it is really like this it ha not a great sense if you don't get to adjust the zooming range but only wide or closed 2 positions

Seems the the updates changed the "video sharpness" feature, Insta 360 Ace Pro. It doesn't appear in the settings menu

I know this is not 360 cam, but in editing software for ace pro in wide angle. If I aim at the general direction of my target can it still track the target and keep the target in center of screen? I want to use it to record my friends snowboarding. Do I have to aim at him directly at center of screen perfectly at all time to have the same effect as One X3 follow cam?

Thanks for the video. But we need a lens guard cap otherwise no usage for this camera. Replacement 1st year and paying shipping cost is not the way to go. And what happens after the 1st year? Next wonder how good the focus is from this camera?

Thank you for the in depth review, I'm literally appalled at some of the comments especially from the 'fanboys', you know who you are. I own all the brands, Sony, GoPro, Insta360, DJI etc and for years now and I don't only have one of each either. Have you noticed the fanboys consistent rant? Lens cover and the idea of a flip screen LOL Really, that's all you guys can come up with against the obvious main competition killers... low light shooting, hi res USABLE zoom, AI functions and I'm not talking about AI Warp but very cool, pause control, cancel recording, 8K even though it's at it's early stages. But hey, this is what fanboys do, they dwell on the really unimportant things to justify their hard earn cash they spend on their now inferior camera lol. Lens protector, here's an idea, UV ND filter for Ace Pro is $10, GoPro/DJI replacement cover $25 here, who's drinking the Kool Air, seriously, this is all you guys can come up with??? Wow and sad. Yah I know, no 10 Bit recording, in this camera that 10-bit comparison is very close and let's be honest, for a lot of end users, most don't even know what 10 bit is and the human eye can't see a billion colors btw, not to mention post editing in 10 bit is a nightmare and hardware intensive. Insta360 is targeting more then one audience here, yes granted, a flip screen is not the most "rugged" feature but a lot of people who vlog, it's brilliant and let's be honest again, more and more users are using their action cams to vlog. I have a Sony HDR, 4 GoPros, 3 DJI's and ONe RS, I have yet to replace the lens cover in any of them and for scratches, I use a glass lens protector on them the day I unbox it. I kayak, canoe, downhill ski, bow hunt, mountain bike, rock climb, hike with my cameras pretty much on a daily basis. The funny thing is, some of the bias reviews when this first launch are starting to change direction in their reviews, some don't even have this camera are already discrediting it and played judge jury and executioner and funny, when they actually say this camera is actually pretty good, they wind back to the replacement screen thing LOL hmmmm... forget the better quality low light shooting which btw along with the amazing digital zoom was 2 of the most requested things from users for action cams, guess who hasn't come up with the idea after what 12 generations of devices???? Talk about back in the stone ages, they haven't even go OUT of the stone ages lol. FYI, I don't work for Insta360, I have but only one of their cameras it's a 360 camera and I think that's pretty ground breaking in 360 compared to it's competitors and at the end of the day, I'm more a DJI guy as I have 3 of their cameras and their drones, top notch stuff but this time, I have to give the credit to ACE Pro because I was literally going to go out and buy the DJI Action 4, for my use, the Ace Pro is more of an advantage. Another thing, I use to sell cameras for almost 20 years so I've seen action cam since it's conception. Before you fanboys chirp about trivial things like lens cover or flip up screen, remember, the world doesn't evolved around YOU, you want to drink that Kool Aid, hey, it's your life and your money. Everyone uses their camera differently and some fit them perfectly and some it doesn't, who are YOU to say it's not good for that person beside you???? I see this Ace pro as innovative being that this is their first stab at an action cam format, wow, think for a second here. Their FIRST one and it's competing with companies who's had decades of experience doing this and to this day still really can't get it right lol Wait til the Ace Pro 2 comes out, GoPro and DJI better step their game up, this is what happens when companies get lazy and think because they are a household name they can keep getting away with stupid things like 'over heating'. My 2 cents.

If you’re talking about just vlogging, then the dji already has pocket 3 with better low light, background separation, and more stable. If purpose is for action, then the dji action 4 in my opinion is better, just because it is more rugged (but the video quality is better in ace pro). If purpose is both vlog and action, and the budget is for one camera only, then I think Ace pro is the best choice right now. Gopro i think is done lol, very slow innovation and releasing new generations when in reality it’s just a software update. I agree with you though, dji should step up their AI or just video processing, since they already have good hardware.

I've held off on buying a GoPro for about 3 years because of hearing all the issues with it freezing up, crashing, low light recording woes, etc. I think this Ace Pro is what I'll get. And the lense cover IS removable. Just do a search of that topic on this platform. If a "tech" can get it off at a service center, Joe Blow can get it off without issues.

I read on the Insta app that after 31st of Dec you will be able to do only 3 warp edit per day FOC. I think it’s not bad they are not mentioning if and how much it will cost if you want to do more than 3 edits per day

When I go to the image settings, I don't have the option to change the sharpness. The only options available are Anti-Flicker, Video encoding and Bitrate. Ami I doing something wrong?

No - with the latest firmware the sharpness setting has been moved - you can now change the sharpness in the menu of the advanced capture settings (swipe from the right edge to the left) - look for the triangle

For the external mic connection, you said Airpods, can you use any bluetooth headphone other then Apple?

Ugh see that blows. I cant just record to stabilized freeform and then adjust in davinci. My workflow would suck. Youd need to go through and stabilize all the clips at 16:9 then export, then go back and restabilize them in 9:16 for social media.

Not really - there is an effect in the app to make it disappear - but for the proper invisible selfie stick effect you need to get a 360 camera.

But I do have a question about the removal of the selfie stick. Because the feature 'AI selfie stick eraser' doesn't exist anymore in the app. Like, I don't see it anymore ;(

Great review. Looks like an outstanding camera but I'm not sold. Backscreen looks awful, having a non replaceable lens and having to use an external audio adaptar destroys all good points on extra resolution, low light capabilities and some other features against my DJI Osmo Action 4. Besides, close subjects are out of focus just like they were on earlier DJI Action 3. For now I'd rather say I won't venture away from my DJI. By the way, GoPro is just a thing of the past with these competitors. Greetings from Paraguay.

Apparently according to Insta360 it's non-removable to make it waterproof to 10 meters without the need for a underwater housing.

No removable lens cover. Back to stone age. Nobody wants an action camera that does that weird AI animation. Have been waiting for this kinda action camera from Insta360 after my OneR, but I'll have to go with Osmo Action 4 as my new camera.
