Thanks, I made that myself, here's the corresponding video 😜 kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZY6Z0sOMZdjOiqQ.html When I make music, the result depends on 1) the gear I use and in this case, I just bought the Walrus Audio Julianna chorus pedal which is why the melody has that "wail" in it and 2) on the mood I'm in. This was from October 26th, 2021, sometime during the 2nd or 3rd lockdown, mandatory masks in public, with the days getting darker and me postponing yet another holiday I had planned for September that year. Sometimes, it's also about exploring and finding new sounds. For example that "breathing/spitting" sound around 1:00 - Aphex Twin did something similar in 1991 kzread.info/dash/bejne/nXd30qOIlby0krQ.html and I was kinda happy I was able to achieve that kind of noise.

When there was still "the King's Grace" - that gave you 10x keys 10x faster - I could play for maybe 2 hours without ads and record all noob dungeons in one session. Then Zeptolab took over a YEAR to fix another subscription model and now you get 8x keys 8x faster for TWICE the money. Not worth it - and without it, I can only attack 1-2 dungeons with my 66 keys and then watch ads forever 😭 In other words: recording Noob Saturday is no longer manageable as it would take 12 hours in 50 sessions over a whole week.

Well, yeah. It's a pretty good game. But it has bugs that haven't been fixed in 8 years - like when you raid a gem and it disappears in your roaster. Or your guild ranking where I don't understand to this day why you seem to be #24 all of a sudden when in reality you carry your whole guild and are # 1 both in GXP and gem delta. Also more recently, people record the ghost solution and beat your impossible base that took 10 hours to save with ONE death. And Zeptolab doesn't even react when you report these hackers ... multiple times. So yeah, pretty good game. But is has seen better days. Time to carry on. And do cooler stuff.

@@g3cd so why don't you record such hacked viewers' bases? You simply repeat bases in the game editor and use a speedhack/macro so as not to waste time on an legitimate passage, because to be honest, the viewers don’t really care how many hours you spent completing the base. Just make the most ordinary video in which there is only an explanation of the passage. I mean without the part with potions and ways to die, and also without a lot of video editing. Then your videos won’t be too labor-intensive and your percentage of fun from the KoT game will be higher. I also think everyone who watched you and even those who have already quit the game will be very happy. Think about it, I'm not pointlessly writing this - it's an attempt to help create a compromise between your love for the KoT and the desire to have fun blogging

@@g3cd I really hope that you will understand that it is not necessary to perfect the quality of the video. I'm sure that most people watch less than half of your videos, especially now in the era of short videos. Therefore, I advise you to make a video no more than 1 minute, in special cases no more than 1:30. in editing, make red signs only for the most important jumps, and not for all. Don’t zoom in on the camera too often or make various complex transitions. remember how you made your first videos 6-7 ago - this option will now be the best for both you and the audience Viewers used to watch your videos in order to know the strong bases, but when the game began to lose popularity, there were fewer and fewer newcomers in it, then your videos gained fewer views, because for viewers everything that you film became very ordinary and well-known - just combinations for a long time famous jumps and timings. The only time your videos got good views was the release of new databases. But they rarely come out, so Peter created the KOT creative discord server (you are there) and taught others to change the bases and add traps in unlimited quantities. I also got inspired by this and wrote a script to change the physics of the character. In fact, we ourselves began to diversify the game. And believe me, if you start posting on your channel those bases and jumps that are invented on the server, then all the old players will pee from the happiness and variety of new jumps and timings that they have never seen. Just don't spend too much time on videos and reduce their length

  • @g3cd

That's roughly 350 cables in that desk - that's why I labelled both ends of each cable so I always know which goes where. If you don't, you can spend hours trying to figure out where a couple of cables came from and follow them through the table, that's living hell. Also when I bought the studio desk, I didn't consider the factor that I'd need easily over 2000€ for cables. So it's a good thing to plan stuff in advance and write down "Prophet 6: sits in the centre, it requires 2x 1,80m TS-TS cable, 1x 2m 220V power cable and 1x 30cm MIDI". I got spreadsheets for that, no kidding 😖

  • @g3cd

Yeah, apart from the 8x RJ45 cables leading from one side to the other, I'm using 2x 1,50m snakes with 8x TS going from the patchbay to the pedals, just to save some space and clean up the mess. Enoaudio.de does custom snakes in Europe (also with angled jacks for tight desktop spaces), swamp.net.au has some rare lengths in Australia, custom-lynx.co.uk does them in the UK and rockfordsound.com is a nice source in the US. You also could use DB25 cables if you need loads of stuff to go from one corner of your studio to the other but a) Switchcraft 9625 patchbays are between $1345 and 2000€ a pop b) they use smaller TT patch cables instead of TRS and c) I'd feel restricted when I must use 8 ports in the patchbay in the order dictated by the DB25 plug instead of using TRS/TS in the back in an order that makes sense to me (for example mimicking the order of my pedals on my desk). Switching from 4x 48 port Samson to 2x 96 port Switchcraft would now cost me 5000-6000€ 😭 As for mixers, speck.com has some awesome TRS-based mixers - I'm currently using the X.Sum which has 32x TRS in, 4x TRS out in 1U (!). My audio interface, microphone pre-amp and headphone amp is the Cranborne 500R8 that has ALL the connectors and options you could EVER think of, I'm also using the 1010 Bluebox with 6xTRS in 3x TRS out as my main mixer (with my speakers connected and a very handy touchscreen). I wish I had some faders - I'm using the AtoVproject 16N to control MIDI velocity, but I'm considering getting the After Audio Bartender and Barback Eurorack modules that would allow for 16 stereo (!) faders in just 19" 3U rack space.

Do you have this desk only for YT? Or do you make music outside of YT?

  • @g3cd

When I only did KZread and Twitch, I had a much smaller desk with 1 AIDA 100 camera, the ATEM Mini Pro ISO streaming desk, a Atomos Ninja V as a fallback for video recording, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 mic pre-amp (and optional: a TC Electronic Sentry noise-gate pedal and a Empress Compressor MK2 pedal). That's already completely independent from any PC and doesn't slow down your computer when streaming or recording. I then started with synths during the lockdown when KZread didn't update copyright-safe music to the audio library for 9 months and I was worried I'd get a strike with the hundreds of gaming vids I did. So I started making music, got a Nord Drum 3P, one poly synth, a Polyend Seq sequencer, the 1010 blackbox and one reverb and one delay pedal. That's enough to make electronic music and also 100% DAW-less. The Focusrite was a pain in the ass though and I always wanted to replace it with something more professional and reliable - that's why I got the Cranborne 500R8 with the 500 modules for the voice chain after a tax refund. And well ... I wanted a 2nd drum synth with faders, a proper 303 clone, some good poly synths and then I saw the JP8080 and Orbit 9090 with all those 90s techno sounds I loved. And things got a bit more complicated 😂

does it do live sampling and live looping?

  • @g3cd
    @g3cdАй бұрын

I asked the guy and it can be used as "a very expensive effect pedal". Usually in granular synths, you can switch between continuous recording and recording only once (with a max length) and then you can set the start and end of a loop with the potentiometers and some bars on the screen. So while you can "record continuously" and apply effects to the live sound, making a loop does require some fiddling and is nothing like the Boss RC loop stations with huge buttons Record/Play. And while the manual does list a MIDI CC command (that will be implemented with the next firmware update) for "Material Start" and "Material Sound on Sound", I didn't see any "Material Stop" or "Material Overdub" CC values. So not sure whether you could use it with an external (foot) MIDI controller to achieve that Boss RC feeling. It would make total sense though and seeing how active these guys are with their firmware updates (S-1 received sometimes multiple updates per week), I would consider this possible in the future.

From my own experience with the GR-1 I'd say: 4 tracks is more than enough and already does every ambient/drone magic ever, but in conparison, the S-4 is way more accessible and does a lot more than the GR-1. I can't wait to see the GR-1's firmware 3.0 that is said to resolve the terrible load/save functions that lost me a few projects after hours of work and has been 2 years in the making... but I actually sold my GR-1 two days ago to get a S-4 instead 🫤

Same here ... it's really awkward to record something into the GR-1 even though I bought the Centrance R4 mixerface specifically to get some sound into it (and it's a really good audio interface). But I lost a project or two when saving failed. The S-4 can do at least the same as the GR-1, loading and saving is a breeze and with the additional compression, bitcrusher, distortion, lowpass/highpass and 4 LFO per track it has a lot more to offer than just one delay/reverb buried somewhere at the bottom of some hard-to-reach preference like the GR-1. I wanted to ask Tasty Chips about the new file structure they were said to introduce with the MEGA, truck-sized granular synth, but they weren't there at Superbooth this year 🫤

Also, this game does not suit your style. Find a game in which you can make explanation videos similar to the explanation of the King of Thieves game I have a suggested game that suits your style of explanation in which you can explain heroes and hero equipment. It is a game that supports content creators. It is the Honor of Kings game.😢 If you do not like my suggestion, you can continue with this content and I will support you in any case

*sob* yeah, I know. I'm not the entertaining guy like Simon from the Yogscast, I'm very good at explaining things. That's why I intend to do a few more synthesizer / studio setup videos where I explain stuff and give tipps. I do enjoy these story rich exploring games though, that's why I'm still playing them and sharing them on my (mostly gaming) channel. After this I will be playing some Hellboy - Web of the Wyrd which sounds like an interesting game concept. I would be probably more successful if I did the usual clickbait surprised face stuff and concentrate on popular topics that OTHERS enjoy. But I'd much rather do videos about things I enjoy. There used to be a time where KZread was a platform where every niche topic found an audience. These times are over now, the popular stuff with high view numbers is junk food for the masses.

@@g3cd You are right. The You Tupe platform has differed from before. Long videos were acceptable, but now they are not👍

I know that you left the game because of a lack of interest in you, but believe me, you are an amazing person. If I had money and were rich, I would give you $200 for each video, not just $100. If you want, look for another game. Try Honor of Kings. They support content makers greatly, and if you don’t like the game, look for another game. Believe me, I will support you as much as I can because I do not have money, but I will support you by liking and watching, thank you. You may find that I did not watch all of your videos because I am a new follower, but believe me, I am in favor of change if you do not find that the game suits you, and it does not have to be just one game. I was sad when I saw that you did not continue downloading, and I also like your detailed explanation method.

Your work in King of Sauces is very wonderful, detailed and very useful. I hope you will come back. Believe me, if I were rich, I would give you two hundred dollars for each video because your work is very wonderful and also your voice is beautiful.😊

If you were Zeptolab and your mobile game ranking dropped from #10.000 in the US mobile charts to #14.600 after I quit doing videos, you'd be better off paying me $100 per video to continue doing them. But no one from Zeptolab ever contacted me, even though I offered to meet them when I was in Moscow a couple of years ago and once applied for a video editing job at their Barcelona office (and never heard back from them).
