If you were Zeptolab and your mobile game ranking dropped from #10.000 in the US mobile charts to #14.600 after I quit doing videos, you'd be better off paying me $100 per video to continue doing them. But no one from Zeptolab ever contacted me, even though I offered to meet them when I was in Moscow a couple of years ago and once applied for a video editing job at their Barcelona office (and never heard back from them).

@@g3cd I know that you left the game because of a lack of interest in you, but believe me, you are an amazing person. If I had money and were rich, I would give you $200 for each video, not just $100. If you want, look for another game. Try Honor of Kings. They support content makers greatly, and if you don’t like the game, look for another game. Believe me, I will support you as much as I can because I do not have money, but I will support you by liking and watching, thank you.

Thanks 😉 I still try to tell a story without being too boring - this episode is "the best bits" of a 6 hour twitch stream, so it's quite tough to edit.

You built your channel around KoT, so its much more profitable to do those videos and just upload once in a long while, so you can spread the video editing out over an extensive period of time. The sad truth is you can’t just switch content very easily, and it’s MUCH more worth it to spend more time doing a 3 minute video because of the amount of views they get. I love your content, you were a large part of my childhood, and I don’t want your channel ruined because of this. Yes, the videos take longer to edit, but it’s a much better option.

The problem is 1) King of Thieves is a niche mobile game ranked #14223 in the U.S., so there is no future in doing another 1600 videos for it, long term. 2) As of late, my absolutely impossible layout - that took days to save and where regular players die up to 320 times - is more and more raided by cheaters that do it "flawlessly". Even after reporting them, Zeptolab doesn't do anything about it other than hiding the "report" button so I can't report the same person again. 3) KZread doesn't care about subscribers any longer. Try watching some obscure music video to the end like "we'll meet again" by Vera Lynn and KZread will spam your feed with a dozen more like those while actively hiding any of the uploads from channels you subscribed to. So in conclusion: a) making more KoT videos doesn't change anything but will doom my channel long term. b) so I just play and record and publish what I really like, no matter what the view count or subscriber numbers say.

@@g3cd Some of these points are contradictory. If you want a successful channel, then doing what you really like regardless of view count isn’t a great option. Your points do make sense though. KoT is small, very buggy, and has a lot of problems. I lost a 60k gem to a hacker, and there was no report system for it, only for inappropriate player names. I think the smartest decision is starting on a blank slate, and using your knowledge on the algorithm and KZread to make a successful channel playing games you enjoy, that are larger. There isn’t much point in uploading on this channel, but I suppose there is no point uploading on a brand new one either. You are free to make your own decisions, just giving you tips based on my limited knowledge.

Find a game in which you can make explanation videos similar to the explanation of the King of Thieves game I have a suggested game that suits your style of explanation in which you can explain heroes and hero equipment. It is a game that supports content creators. It is the Honor of Kings game.😢 If you do not like my suggestion, you can continue with this content and I will support you in any case

*sob* yeah, I know. I'm not the entertaining guy like Simon from the Yogscast, I'm very good at explaining things. That's why I intend to do a few more synthesizer / studio setup videos where I explain stuff and give tipps. I do enjoy these story rich exploring games though, that's why I'm still playing them and sharing them on my (mostly gaming) channel. After this I will be playing some Hellboy - Web of the Wyrd which sounds like an interesting game concept. I would be probably more successful if I did the usual clickbait surprised face stuff and concentrate on popular topics that OTHERS enjoy. But I'd much rather do videos about things I enjoy. There used to be a time where KZread was a platform where every niche topic found an audience. These times are over now, the popular stuff with high view numbers is junk food for the masses.
