Really nice work, Peter! Great looking stool! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Simple, neat and practical
Could the A frames not be made 'monoque' from the sheet so you don't have to domino in the cross braces, it's all one sheet with cut outs
I am feeling like you gave to give it some silly name (ala Ikea).
Hi Peter. Nice project! What is the domino attachment you have?
Which countersink bit did you use?
at the end of the diy, you show a big smile. something beautiful
Excellent, excellent tip, Peter!
Many thanks! 👍
My goodness. I really appreciate the time you take going into such detail about what most novices, like me, would like to know or sometimes take for granted. I’m learning more about cabinetry in these short videos than some series that are hours long. Thank you very much!
Glad it was helpful! 👍
The fold out step is a v nice touch. Possibly elevates this above the Ikea beckvam, a design classic - in my eyes at least!
Completely agree re the Bekvam - absolute classic!
Hi Peter, Nice stool looks a nice easy build project and will fit in any where in the home or workshop, as always a great video Take care
Thanks Shaun! 👍
There's something so satisfying about watching you lay things out without measuring anything.
Thank you! 👍
Great build and great video as usual. I would be interested in a video of the bench with fold down step. Did you make a video of that?
Thanks! As I say in the vid, that will be coming along shortly - it was put on a back-burner while I we had the house build last summer. 👍
@0:35 so the first one was just a stool sample? 😂😂😂
That's a simple stylish design Peter, with a nod to the ubiquitous Ikea Bekvam step stool, Importantly it is only splayed back to front so more for sitting than standing on as it would be inclined to tip sideways. I mention this because I built a stool almost exactly these dimensions out of scraps ( and braced diagonally with herringbone straps ) for outside work, and I have to remind myself to be careful not to tip it when I stand on it !
Thanks Andy. Yes, absolutely a sitting design. You can make a standing design, but you mustn't have the seat / top overhang the sides - makes a big difference. 👍
Really nice benches. As we get older it’s nice to have a stool nearby.
"Nice jig" 🤣🤣🤣 Well done Peter. I would have never thought of the conformit screws for this purpose. And now I know.
I know right? If I can promote my own product on my own channel... 😂 Don't use confirmat screws much, but they worked well for this. 👍
Yoikes Peter, Them's some chunky plies in that board! Makes me want a slice of Walnut creme cake to go with my lunch-break coffee.
Yeah, it's the Birch faced poplar. Really lightweight - so good for a kids stool - but I'm not a fan generally, given the cost. 🤷♂️ 👍
Looks great. Love your reaction when your done and sit on it for the first time, fine job.
Thanks 👍
Great looking stool samples!
Thanks! 👍
😂
Peter, what's the countersink bit you used? It's not listed in the description or your amazon Workshop Essentials list?
Yes it is - right under the KBB DrillBlock -(Trend Snappy de-burring tool (countersink) - amzn.to/3NRpNtx) They're quite pricey now, you an get a Fisch one for less - amzn.to/4emJDrG 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop Great thanks, but I see the Tailors Awl as th enext thing below the KWB drill block. ? Those aren't cheap but do seem to do a good job. I'll add one to the Father's day list. 🙂
5:00 did you not mess up your table while drilling the holes?
I drilled into it, yes - is that messing up? 🤷♂️ Going to be replaced soon anyway... 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop I just see it so pristine that thought it was not intended.
Would it be less hassle to cut the dowel before they're inserted.
Nope, nowhere near.
Awesome meaning to make one of these for the kids for ages.
Thanks, gold explaination and like the way you demonstrated the effects on a painted board.
I rather use golden dowels. They would be faster to install and probably cheaper.
Awesome
Awesome content! Thank you for doing this, from St. John’s, Newfoundland!
Thanks, and welcome! 👍
A bread knife can cut the dowel, too
Hold on! Just unclip the hinge….then a half second clip how to do just that
Cannot find the plans - would you mind helping me out?
They’re in my Shopify store here👍 10minuteworkshop.myshopify.com/products/diy-roll-board-or-mobile-base-plans
I’ve been trying to figure out the tools I need to set up my workshop in a way I can just start doing and when the first three items on your list matched up with the first three items I already have reserved at the local hardware store I am now very curious to see what else is on that list! 😅 Thank you for all your great videos making a lot of things seem so much less complicated and scary
Late comment, but instead of cutting the two corner notches, I would rather use two more of your location pins in properly drilled holes.
Hi, instead of using a carpenter to put a lock on my bedroom door, I decided to buy these magnets from amazon. The big question is, once the door shuts how do I open it?!?!
Great build!!! But t track needs to be radiused to fit stuggly in the dado. Lol just kidding love your videos 😂
Beautiful.....
Here in commie-california no one sells the paper for bosch but all the pant stores and high end lumber yards only have festool. bosch has been such a pain In my ass out west ever since the economic collapse in 2007 bosch be slipping and letting every other tool manufacturer kick them to the curb here in the USA
Enjoy watching some if your videos. I watched a vid about router cutters and you asked if "spiral" ones were elf & safety compliant in hand held routers. To the best of my knowledge the governing factors are the strength of your wrists, power of the router and your skill / experience level. They do make a single disposable blade blade router for kitchen worktops and they can be worse than a big"spiral" to use
Excellent. Great teacher
I have been using a belt sander to clean up a painted fence to get it ready for new paint. I have done a few panels, but I am glad I ran into your video. I have an orbital sander and will switch to this for the rest of the job. Sounds like it will work a lot better.
I’m sorry but I can’t tell the difference in the beginning looks like the same thing
Thanks. This has definitely been something that I've wondered.
You are a natural teacher 🙂
Great review as always Peter. Thanks for sharing
You never did a follow up video on your Jessem Router and new motor.
No, I never did. Not much to say tbh - worked great, still working great. 🤷♂️👍
