Too many people buy jets and modern ones can be sized incorrectly, when jets do not wear out. Most get damaged when things are poked into them. JIS screw drivers and suddenly all the screws are easy to undo. Who knew?? Anyhow. Great video with valuable lessons to learn.

Sadly I’m finding many shop with younger mechanics have no experience with carbs, all of their “factory” training is on fuel injection, so if they can’t solve he problems by swapping out the injectors or resetting the the map on a laptop……they are lost 🤨.

I had been unsubscribed for some reason so have re-subscribed. I don’t know much about the mechanics of my but started having ago at doing my maintenance, services etc. I follow the periodic maintenance list and tackle any other issues I find. Look for KZread videos for anything I’m unsure of just to give me a clue. A lot of what I’m doing I’m finding easy. I have saved a fortune so far by doing my service.

I've owned three of these Thunderace's over the years. Fantastic bikes, very underated. I always have to strip and clean the carbs because they're full of gunk. Never had a compression issue, but I know I'm a tiny subset of a gazillion bikes. Easy to work on, very powerful. I traded my last one in for a ZZR 1400. It too is fantastic but somehow not as 'nippy' as the Ace.

In most respects this is a good video. The one thing that spoils it is your constant use of the "F" word. It is completely unnessesary, and adds nothing to your narrative. Just gives the impression that you are ignorant, which is a shame as you are clearly very knowledgeable. I was interested in your use of the oxygen readout to adjust the mixture. Years ago when I was engine tuning I used the CO (Carbon Monoxide) readout. I guess that was a habit from the pre cat days when we only had one or two gas analysers. When testing the mixture on a car with a cat I would use the oxygen sensor readout to confirm the mixture. However, I can see that your method works well. (I do have a 4 gas plus Lamda sensor analyser now).

The general census of opinion is overwhelmingly against you. I regularly get messages saying, "Thanks for keeping it real" Put bluntly. If you don't like it, don't watch it. I don't censor myself in life, and I'm certainly not going to start doing it for a handful of wet wipes on KZread that are offended by the occasional F-bomb. If you choose to take offence, then that's your problem, not mine. Thanks for watching 😁👍

Im 5 foot 4 inches I had a ride on some guys yamaha fzr 1000 xup. What surprised me was it was low enough for me to flat foot the bike and it was really comfortable. The power of the bike was really easy to control and the sound of the bike was very addictive. Same goes for the kawasaki zzr 1100. Damn shame they dont produce bikes like that anymore

I know just how he feels. Just over 4.5 years ago I dropped a 95 XJ 900 Diversion and broke the fairing mounts and did some other cosmetic damage. My insurance excess was AUST.$100 so I decided to get it done up. There was nothing wrong with the mechanical side of the bike. He quoted AUST.$2500 and I gave him AUST.$1500 to do some other bits not covered by insurance as it was a great bike. To cut a long story short he still hasn't finished it. After chasing him for over 3 years I got in touch with the insurance company last year to find out what was happening and they told me he had been paid for their work so as far as they were concerned it's a case of "too bad, so sad it's not our problem anymore". I would take it elsewhere but not knowing what needs doing to it may cost to get it finished it would cost more then the bike would sell for. I've finally decide to bite the bullet and to give him until 19th Nov. this year when it will have been 5 years and get it taken elsewhere so I can sell it and recover some of my money.

I saw something similar on the Bearded Mechanics channel, not a V4 but a similar problem, carbs spotless, compression to the moon, still had internittent missfire! (When hot !) It turned out to be pick up coils. He too had problems with new components after fitting new pick-up coils (From ebay) which turned out to arse! fitted a set of pre-owned ones, problem solved. Could this be your problem too?
