Am I the only one who appreciates the fact that Jim still puts out a video showing that he fucked up ?! We all make mistakes, it’s part of the job. Live and learn Jim , live and learn.

Yeap, fair play Jim
Appreciate you putting up your mess up videos. We all make them , few have the integrity to show them to everyone!
respect mate not many bike techs would own up to making a mistake in my opinion your the best tech on youtube and should have way more subscribers all the best mucker
So refreshing to see Videos where the person actually knows what they're doing! And gives thorough explanations too! Nice work 👏
Brilliant video, love your logic and the fact you admitted a mistake, an honest youtuber is a rare breed. We all learned from your mistake, thanks! Also, I love the "waffle" so much extra info there, much appreciated.
😅I thought the same initially with the pressure. I worked on these bikes when they first came out but never had any problems, however, I also worked in Ducati's up to 2016 and some have very similar set up. Had the same sort of problem which turned out to be engine temp sensor. Some Dukes had 2 sensors. One to feed the ECU, one to feed the temp. gauge. If the ECU sensor was reading incorrectly then the ECU thought the engine was hot, so wouldn't richen the mixture on cold starting.
I don't think you waffle too much it shows your thought process and how you approach these things. And from my years in the power industry just because you have explained something it does'nt mean someone else has understood it, but you make sure your viewers do. Also a big up for admiting your mistake insead of editing out. And as you say that is how easy it is to led astray fault finding. Keep up the good work love your content.
You are a fantastic technician and a great teacher keep doing what you are doing, I have taught thousands of automotive apprentices over 30years and you are good
Excellend video Jim, these uploads are turning into the highlight of my Fridays! To give credit to yourself, with where you started you were on the right train of thought. Props for highlighting your errors. It's easy to let pride get in the way and not admit to it. I believe that anyone who is willing to admit an error and learn from it are the best in their respective field.
“My heads gone”. Know that feeling all too well well 😂
i love jims openess and honsety when he drops the ball massive respect in thes days of perfect build youtubers we have !!
great video Jim!
Stunning,cracking piece of kit!
Yes I remember the split fuel filter on the KTM
FAIL? = First attempt in learning . As said we all make mistakes . It's how you learn from them that matters. Stumbled across this channel a short while ago and have learnt a lot especially the scope use(pico). My background isn't bikes but cars and vans and there's a lot that crosses over into those - i do have an interest in bikes including owning a Vespa LX125. The thought processes you use are also very insightful Jim and well thought out even though you might think it's waffle
We are all learning, reversing out of that rabbit hole, glad you told us. Great bike, thx for sharing.🏍
It's reassuring that even someone as experienced as you, can catch yourself out.
I like your videos, because you always show the whole story, including mistakes. Looking forward to seeing the vmax run as well 😊
If it was me I'd probably change the fuel pump and filter anyway as they are old and not that expensive. BTW that RC45 sounds bloody fantastic!
Good honest video love the humour thanks JIM
Quite funny Jim, easy enough to make mistakes for a professional, super great video,
You know its a real world video because this sort of thing happens - thanks for sharing
I helped hang one of those from the ceiling in Joey's Bar years ago
ST2 filter would fit. Similar pressure. Thanks for the testing detail. Very helpful Jim.
Still an interesting video, learned something new
Shit happens but you've told us the small faux pau, so all good. Nice that you've scored a win with the "Lean" start and given it a little sniff of "Start ya Bastard" (look it up if you've not heard of it) Side question - when are we getting the winning video of the V-Max starting like a dream? Keep up the good work
A V4 that isn't a V-Max , makes a change.
Awesome bike!! that air box lid is a crime
If you learn from a mistake then its just a valuable lesson learnt 👍
Still sound logic, a man that never made a mistake never made anything.
Motion pro injector cleaner tool ,or improvise and ultrasonic clean them ,they prob can't flow test em as most injector cleaner shops only cater for car injectors, but some will ultrasonic clean them anyway but you won't know if they bleed afterwards 👍
Keep the waffle we enjoy it
always with Honda's pop off vent line at regulator, wet vacuum hose port is bad, VTX 1800, VFR 800, quite common and diagnostic is quickly known so can be eliminated or discovered in mere minutes,
Stop waffling jim 😂😂😂😂
Temperature sensor reading? Poor cold start but fine when warm ( lean condition) ?

shit happens lad all been there keep at it ul get there great video as always next one please
A faulty coolant temp sender affecting cold start ? High reading might not throw a fault and illuminate the Fi light ??
I'm only 2 minutes in and I'm shouting "COMPRESSION TEST" at the screen 😧

I was on a trackday at Donington park when someone stacked a Desmosedici RR. But fair play to the Duc owner for wanting to exploit what it offered, even if it didn't end well.
where part 6 of the yamaha?
Did I hear MAF sensor? These often fail to lean fuel giving rough cold running and bad starts. Just fixed a Subaru with this issue

No maf sensor, it uses 2 map sensors
has anyone mentioned the cold start on the TB's yet,
How do you calculate the labour costs for the client when there is all this YT filming being done at the same time?

It's farley easy to estimate the actual time the job would take without all the messing around with a camera. I then charge 75% of that number. Keeps it more the fair from the customers point of view.
That's a serious case of CBA on the bikes behalf 😂

These were the days of race specific chipsets and power commanders.
only 250 of these ever made.
ha ha ya sound like Mark Heap 🤣
What a POS! It was once a great bike for it’s time.. and could still be a great machine IF it was kept up to date with maintenance etc. It’s probably been in storage for years and has a clogged fuel system with blocked injectors and blocked fuel filter. Good luck Jim, and that wasted time on chasing fuel pressure gremlins, don’t worry mate, even the best mechanics fall into traps like that 😂
You some kind of chancer, what game on?? 🤣🤣
