Hi Tim Enjoyed your flight. I’m still trying to break the 25km mark myself. May I ask a couple of questions? Do you go on your speed bar between thermals and do you use the c riser handle steering whilst on full bar or even if not on bar?
@TimPentreath13 күн бұрын
Thanks David… re speedbar use, it depends, the stronger the wind the less I’m likely to use it, but if it’s slow then I’ll probably use maybe 1/3 to 1/2 bar. Only more than that if I’m in 2.5-3m/s sink. Deffo use B riser (I have a 2 liner) steering when using any bar. I don’t tend to use it when not on bar

Hi Tim, the "GREY" glider is me, Andy Nelson. I'm a scouse XC hangie pilot from the late 80's, early 90's. On T/O I declared Abington Park Northampton goal (and got there 😊) I gave up flying 30 years ago! It's my first xc season back and thought I'd do it under a paraglider this time around, the clouds, thermals and triggers are still the same. Love your videos, btw ❤.

I know, it’s not clever is it 😂 Mind you m/s as a climb rate isn’t great for mental arithmetic even if you had altitude in meters. 100s ft/min is actually the best if you have alt in feet - if base is at 4500’ and you’re at 1000’ and you’re climbing at 350fpm then you know it’ll take you approx 10 mins to climb to base. Very simple! Good thing is 1 m/s is almost exactly 200fpm so you can do the sums…

Thanx Tim for taking us along with your epic adventure!! I really enjoyed it!!👍👍👍
Thanks Johan, glad you enjoyed coming along for the ride!
Great!😀
Thanks Heiko, glad you enjoyed it!
Cool video & music! One question: Which better flying in weak conditions OXA2 or Omega ULS?
Well that was actually the OXA4 I was flying there (it's been a while since I had my OXA2)... I'd say the ULS is better in all aspects - it gives more feedback and so has slightly higher pilot demands that the 3 and 4, but still a joy to fly.
@@TimPentreath thanks a lot! Have a nice flying!
Love that❤
Thanks Benji, it’s a beautiful place to fly…
@@TimPentreath with no doubt 🤩, it makes me dream, all of your vidos in fact😊keep going n' enjoying us
Hey you hello, have you ever been in Tunisia, there is so beauttiful spots i really recommend it, i invite to fly with me
@@benjienys3543 No, I’ve not visited Tunisia. Are there many pilots flying XC there? I’m not seeing any on xcontest.org but maybe pilots log them elsewhere?
@@TimPentreath give me your email or Facebook or what else i'll send you some photos and tracks
very interesting vid Tim the way you can see the clouds forming above you the decaying ones very interesting loved it
Cheers Tony, yeah time lapse vids are fantastic for that - it’s harder to spot in real life though unfortunately!
Looks like a perfect day. Thanks for posting.
It certainly was! And the next day was pretty epic too - see my Coast to Coast vid if you haven't already...
Thanks for the punch of inspiration Tim, these Winter days will not last forever.
Thanks, roll on spring!!
