  That one is one of the hardest to pronounce other than some of the lite German cruisers and the 2 battle cruisers im not going to even try to spell doing good to to pronounce them extremely extremely fast

  18:58 I was wondering if sleeved cards would fit in those map sleeves. Thanks for pointing that. I checked sleeves size - they're 70 x 70 mm. You can use them for hero cards I think (to protect them from greasy fingers) since you're not puting it into map sleeves, aye?

  As is, I would not get this game. I think some house rules may heLp even things out ie, disengage and going back to base after the scenario objectives (VPs) are achieved. This may be more realistic. Thanks for sharing.

  Being a primarily solo player, I’ve had that same problem. I’m glad you’re back. Keep us posted. Looking forward to the unboxing. Maybe it’s best if you just pack up that big game and shelve it or sell it

  I have that same thing in the closet. Mines called dungeon Crusade. It’s just too big. It takes 45 minutes to set up. It’s just massive.

  Rulebook frustrated me sooo bad its been on the shelf since. Sequence of play is wrong? Seriously? Ridiculously poor pre production quality check for asking 62.00 a game.

  you took all of the five stacks of 3 cards during the draft, but you were supposed to have only 4. You should not see all the enemy’s cards.

  Though I understand what you’re trying to say about content creators who don’t clearly state they’re using a prototype version of the game, when you’re watching a video dated 1 year before the actual game came out, I think it speaks by itself 🤔

  I’ll add, I played this game at gencon ‘23. Having not played the original sleeping gods I found it a little underwhelming. Ending a gaming session of Distant Skies was just ‘whenever you’re done for the day pause and pick it back up next time.’ There was no clear end or achievement. It just felt anti-climactic.

  Sorry, been away for a bit. I have looked for an errata update and didn’t find any. This new version of this game is pretty up to date. I had no real questions with the rules in my play throughs.

  is it firepower or hit points you add up to figure of the British flee or stay? HP are not firepower as far as i see it, and fire power is the amount of guns shooting, correct? But i am waiting for my game to be delivered wed. thanks for the play through tho.

  Been playing mostly wargames since the 70’s. I still have many of my old Avalon Hill and Victory Games from those days. I don’t buy much games anymore, I don’t have the time to play them much so they would mostly collect dust. However Cruel Necessity is what brought me to you, I will be watching your play of this game with great interest. It will most likely be a purchase for me the English Civil War is one of my favourite historical subject, so to,play this game will be a lot of fun for me

  This is fun! Tips for next time, play your cards in a "tree" so you can easily track your actions. There's an example on page 26 of the base game rule book!

  I liked this game very much. It has a fair amount of replay ability and is very educational. However, there is a lot of dice rolling and therefore a lot is left to chance.

  Gorgeous board and components. Compared to what was inside the cover of the box seems uninspired. I don't have this. I do have The Hunters, which is a great game, but clearly component-wise, Silent War 2.0 is leagues above. Have you played your Philippine Sea Carrier Battle game yet? I missed out on that, i want to see what you think of that, and I will get in line for the reprint, cause its now hard to find

  I have played through the first five scenarios of Philippine Sea, which are training scenarios. Not sure if I want to do a video of it or not. There are plenty play through videos already out there. The problem I am having with it is the forgone conclusion. It was a devastating defeat for the Japanese and they knew it would be. There is no real fear of losing and after playing the training scenarios I suddenly had no real interest in playing the full game. 🤷🏼‍♂️
