Kraken Bass

Kraken Bass

I'm a stoked bass fishing blogger out of Utah. Sharing the unshareable of google maps of where I find fish, and baits that catch fish. Fishing the State of Utah and the surrounding areas filming bass fishing reports, and techniques to help others release the "Kraken" on those bass! My mission is to share real things, that work to help you know the best places, and the right bait that will help you spend your precious time catching fish, instead of dragging water.

Check out my blog for even more intricate details of how to get "Kraken" bass: www.krakenbass.com/

Be careful of the win knots, though. Make sure to manually close the bail instead of with the handle. Cause you can get loops in the line and can still be awful to try to get out especially using braid.

I bought an abu garcia baitcaster combo a few weeks ago, I hate it lol I always end up just using my spinning rod and reel

100% agree. But you don’t need the loop not. Just won a tournament with this technique

Not true high end BFS gear will outcast spinning gear all day if you know what you’re doing.

Great sound wisdom based advice I have been SMH in deep disbelief as rod and reel costs but especially rod prices keep going up by financially frightening amounts I make a VERY good living And I have two sons who enjoy fishing as much as I do I would LOVE to have nothing but G.Loomis fishing rods and Shimano Curado reels but I just can't afford to spend $400-$450 per fishing setup when I need several spinning and casting setups each for three people Same goes for luers and luer colors Good lords sake there are literally OVER 200 different colors just for soft plastic flukes hard baits come in 3-4 diving depths and 3-6 different colors for each different size As a financially responsible adult you have to draw the line on costs for fishing equipment somewhere If you fish competitively in tournaments on a regular basis is one thing, but if like myself and my sons we fish 80-100 days a year purely for the joy fishing brings us I just cant see tying up $10k in rod and reel combo's, fish luers and terminal tackle For goodness sake soft plastic hooks are now over $1 each soft plastics cost between .60c and over a $1 each. You can blow through $1,000 dollars on a shockingly small amount of fishing gear I buy 100% of my fishing rods strictly on sale or when a rod model line is being discontinued and sold off at 40-50% off original price I try to do the same with my reel purchases but its a bit more difficult I also severely limit my luer color choices because what Tom Mann said about luer colors back in the 1970's or early 1980s is absolutely true in that 90% of luer colors catch far more fisherman than fish

I love your take! I definitely have been on the hook a few times. Money can't buy good memories. I thank God for all the good times I've had on the water. I do like my loomis / shimano combos, but only as a personal preference, not to be like ," look at me." Berkley rods from walmart will get the job done just as well. Tiger woods will clean your clock with a cheap set of clubs from Walmart......lol. Thanks again for the take, very true

Best advice ive heard on the topic of bass fishing. I probably put a bit too much money on baits and i also like to at least have a quality reel but because i pack my rods around alot,i tend to go cheaper on my rods

You need to make a video about what to do if you're a bank fisherman with few access points to the water. A lot of ponds around me are like that.

My son uses florocarben and told me to switch to it because I like monofilament line I would get more fish🤔 one day he was getting more fish then me but 3 day's later I got more fish. I told him I've seen two different people with the same bait rigs and one will cach one one not but next time will be different out come. Me and my friend was catfishing on a lake and using the same bait but I was the only one getting fish back in the 80's only thing was monofilaments to fish with. Just thinking about what my son told me he's 25 years old now and I told him what ever works for you use it and have fun fishing. I like the floating with the monofilament lines.

I love my highly affordable tracker pro 170. Was inexpensive. Paid 22,000 cash full price. I upgraded that garbage factory trolling motor with a minn kota power drive I found used on fb marketplace for $300. I upgraded it with a I pilot spot lock I got off ebay for $450 bucks. I pull my boat with my 2005 toyota highlander that i paid cash for. I like to buy the bass pro brand gear cuz quite honestly, I catch the very same fish as the guy with the $80,000 ranger....and all the high end gear and the $85,000 ford dsl truck that he's going to spend a crap ton of $$ on repair because it's garbage. I'm not cheap. Just financially well to do 😂

Please do more on crank bait. Idk why but I love crank bait. I have so many I stopped opening them. I stopped counting after I filled up my 6th tackle box. I have at least 100

  • @Unspoke

You have a problem if you haven’t dialed in a favorite crankbait. After going through half your amount, you should have stopped and reflected on what’s been working for you and what hasn’t. Perhaps it’s time to move on to a different style of fishing.

@Unspoke they're just so fun to buy tho. Lol. I honestly do not know what works the best. I don't have a boat and unles we are fishing a pond where I live worms and crickets is all you really can us. Vermillion and atchafalaya are the 2 biggest, closet rivers and I can fish for hours, try dozens of different baits and get nothing

I catch a lot of fish on a senko. Green pumpkin with red or black flake works for me in dark green water. Visibility about a foot sometimes not that. TVA lake. Old Hickory in TN.
