Never had any luck with a senko even though I know it's supposed to work. Can't wait to try the color chart to see if that helps.
Awesome video J B. Thanks!!!

Thank you did you recognize any of those clips 💪🏼
just started fishing this year. heard all the talk about senkos but never fished em right. I watched this video and sh*t you not, the very next day i caught what was close to a five pounder (4.17lb) smallmouth for my first fish ever on a senko. Thank you dude! the future is bright :D
Great video! I’ve been using these Senko techniques for years and JB is spot on. I was fortunate to have learned them, but it took a lot of trial and error.

I catch a lot of fish on a senko. Green pumpkin with red or black flake works for me in dark green water. Visibility about a foot sometimes not that. TVA lake. Old Hickory in TN.
45 yrs of fishing/ice fishing has taught me that outside of a few general environmental truisms (weather, water temp, etc), fish will eat what they want, when they want, regardless of the color, size, line, time of day, you name it. I can't count how many times I've caught sub-18" rainbows and brownies on a pike line with a 50# mono or black wire leader pulling a #5 Blue Fox spinner, regardless of color, or the black crappie I caught last year on a Texas rig pulled by straight 50# braid, or the success of using a Ned rig when ice fishing. Appreciate the video, truly do, but there is no authoritative way to fish a Senko...
#1 - technique is called dead sticking #2 - color is a factor based on sun light penetration and forage base #3 - fish the senko mixed in with other techniques and when you miss a top water bite throw the senko back in there #4 - hooks vary but use what works not what looks good…circle hooks seem to be reel good wacky VMC wacky hook is deadly #5 - we use 20lb braid with 12 lb fluorocarbon on spinning gear and muscle the fish 🐟 in 🎣 Great tips thanx for the vid ❤🎉❤
Excellent video and great tips. I'm a work in progress when it comes to the Senko.... I'm just not patient enough.

What do you mean dude? Senko's are quite literally the staple of bass fishing. Are you even catching bass if you're not throwing a senko? Requires zero patience at all, they will quite literally hit that thing as it drops to the bottom.
That tank behind you is WAY too tiny for that bass.

Agreed, c'mon man don't leave that size fish in that aquarium. That's torture.
Solid video. Still working out my senko set up. I did get my first smally with a drop shot the other day, texas rigged with a green pumpkin 5" worm.
Awesome 👏
Great content! I use 8# braid but with a 4 foot fluoro leader. I agree that the braid itself is seen too much so I found I get a lot more hookups with the fluorocarbon leader.
Good video. Ty!!

great info!! i've been fishing senkos for years and had great success, however your tips might make fishing with them even better. i've always used texas-rig weightless on a 3/0 EWG Gamakatsu hook, thrown it out and let it sink!! have never done much with a wacky rig but I might try it now. i've always used moss green colored braided line, most of the water I fish isn't clear anyway. what do you think about the 5 inch senkos with the different colored tips, like the Cinnamon/Purple Flake/Methiolate or the Black Blue Flake Blue Tail? They have been great for me!
Thanks man! I’m a self taught fisherman for a few years now and I’ve caught maybe 10 bass total. All tips are welcome. I believe I’ve been just working them baits too fast !! Like you said I’m doing what I see on KZread haha

Trying to find your color chart but I can't find it. I used these for the 1st time and on my vert first cast pulled out a monster. Now I'm going to buy a bunch off amazon
My son uses florocarben and told me to switch to it because I like monofilament line I would get more fish🤔 one day he was getting more fish then me but 3 day's later I got more fish. I told him I've seen two different people with the same bait rigs and one will cach one one not but next time will be different out come. Me and my friend was catfishing on a lake and using the same bait but I was the only one getting fish back in the 80's only thing was monofilaments to fish with. Just thinking about what my son told me he's 25 years old now and I told him what ever works for you use it and have fun fishing. I like the floating with the monofilament lines.
Love your videos and training. Do you ever backup your fluorocarbon line with braided line? If not, why not?

Thanks. Yes I do!
Great tips thanks. Can you do a video on night fishing for bass?
Great tips!! One question... if the bass can notice the difference between monofilament and fluorocarbon, how can they not notice an exposed hook? Which brings me to another question.. are there certain color hooks to use for different water clarity?
When the current picks up, I like to give the senko some action by slow twitching the rod tip, making the senko levitate and resist against the current. I do this with all weightless Yamamoto baits.

Ready I got everyone for real real! 😅😂 The best senko for dirt or clean water is 1 color well 2 RED AND black shad color smallmouth largies even strippers one caught crazy for them I have tried other colors but that's the juice 😜
you can use colored line with a leader

I already knew and do this let it fall wait and usually I get on! Twitch a tiny bit or I tap the rod a little bite jiggling it😂😅
When it comes to line, do yourselves a favor and use P-Line copolymer line.
I've caught more bass on senko style baits than anything. They will hit on the drop, always super fun, but I've also had a lot of hits slowly dragging the bait along the bottom Texas rigged. In clear water you can see them hanging around and following it until they can't stand it anymore.

Same I never really even bought into it for the longest. Im 40 btw, n when me n my friend were younger, he started using them. Yamamoto specifically seems to be the one of the best. I think it’s how soft they are and the color assortment. Just kinda expensive for what they are. They def catch fish. I noticed as well as this guy, using it weightless is absolutely the best. You get a weedless and fish it anywhere. Just know making it weedless will allow you to lose a fish or two here n there
I can't get em to eat the sensor, I have more strikes on an all white fluke
I've been watching your videos you do a great job. My future son in law are looking at doing a KZread thing. If you could toss some help or advise are way that would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for the way and how to go about it. We both love to fish and the outdoors. Thanks

@KrakenBass HI. I hope you're having a great day. I'm 46 and have fished since I was 6. My future son in-law has got the itch to. We love the sport and want to help pass it on. But are not set-up nor know what to do. My step daughter and her mother have been telling him and I to do this for the past 2 years. We want to try and teach kids and people. But want to focus on the fun part of I believe. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for replying back. Keep fishing and keep making memories that's what fishing is. Thanks again
Flurocarbon line is overrated. Every time I give it a chance, it ends up having spool memory right off the bat. Can't stand the stuff. People are obsessed with the "invisibility" of flurocarbon. It has never made a difference in my lake in Canada, even in very clear water conditions.

Keep trying them man. Different locations and slow it down. You’ll be suprised how many times they get bit dead sticking. But almost always they get eaten off the bottom

there is no "right" or "wrong" way to fish, if it lands the bass on the shore or the boat.
just use Rat L traps
The bass in the back needs a bigger tank that tank is way to small for that fish
@KrakenBass

Agreed. Time for an upgrade. Hoping to put a full little pond on the side of my house.
So your basically saying that the. Pros are fishing the senko. Wrong
if im to 2x my catches on bass so hmm lets see.... 2 times 0 is hmmm... still 0 :(
I have thousands in tackle. 99.9% of it sits in my garage. Lures are better at catching fishermen than fish. I now only fish two things. Yum Dingers in smoke/pearl with a dip and glo chartreuse tail weightless and T-rigged on a 4/0 EWG if I am in a lake. If I am on a river/creek/stream I fish Yum Hellgrammites on a Z-Man Finesse Bullet 1/15 oz. That's it. Never fail to catch fish.
Just get to the point man.. goodness
