Freedom speaks Ukrainian, Duty is Speaking Russian and Mercs are speaking modded non-official English lines. Lore-wise they're all Ukrainian except for Mercs which come from other countries in the Soviet Bloc, namely Poland, Slovakia, Belarus and otherwise.

Freedom chants "Svoboda", which means "Freedom" in Ukrainian, while "Svobodu" is Russian. This is supposed to indicate that Freedom is more counter-cultural, modern and generally anarchist. In the original version of the game, most of the Freedom stalkers spoke Ukrainian, it was the only faction that had this option.
