Arran

Arran

Scotland... A country of mystery and a jaw-dropping history. It is my true passion, our ancient culture and history is what has shaped our modern-day Scotland. I believe that every country had very similar beliefs before the powers of civilizations overran our ways of life, I'm just searching for what i believe is real!

The two main contenders for the site of the battle are Dunning near Perth, and Bennachie inland from Aberdeen.

I lived in Temple for many years. The skull and crossbones, along with the "egg timer" signifies the passage of time, as does the winged figurehead on some headstones. The village only became known as Temple in the 1500s. Prior to this its name was Baile nan Trodach which translates from Scots Gaelic as Town of the Warriors. A set square and compass engraved on headstones denoted a mason. There is a similar carving above the front door of the old schoolhouse.

I will be traveling to Inverness in September and I’m most excited to be in the wilderness. I’m obsessed with the Picts and I will be in awe when I finally see the stones in person.

If you are Scottish and you won't obey the rules, where do you get the temerity to demand that tourists do, but like my Scottish wife, you must be entitled and special ?

It was The Red Comyn & Simon Fraser who led the Scots at The Battle of Roslin 24th February 1303. Wallace had lost the leadership of The Scottish army after The Battle of Falkirk 1298 & Bruce was not at this battle please get your facts right. You present very well too bad there are so many historical errors.

The hill you’re on is pronounced Coburnlaw, leave out the ch. The word broch isn’t pronounced with a k at the end. It’s pronounced the same way as loch. I grew up just a few miles from there.
