Munlochy Clootie Well - When Cultures Collide

Ойын-сауық

Munlochy Clootie Well is situated on the Black Isle which is just North of Inverness. The ancient site which our ancestors regarded as absolute sacred is in a sorry state at present time, but don't let that take away the magic of the spot. If you are passing by on the NC500 or whatever please don't forget to pop in and see why your ancestors thought so highly of these sacred springs.

Lived in the Black Isle between 1986-90, passed by the Clootie Well many times, but never explored there until 2021. Would love to go back again. Such a pity some folk don't know what 'biodegradable' means.

Great video, with a great message. Plus a great job removing the "garbage" I wanted to last time I was there but friends made me stop. Not sure it is stupidity but definitely ignorance. I tell folk to listen, nature will tell you what to do.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the same way. I've been to Avebury and Roll right stone circle and see people littering the poor trees. When those trees get bigger the ribbons will cut into them. Leave only footprints as they say.

The face masks really doing a good job there haha Seriously though your right even when we "man" mean well we still do harm even when with good intentions I feel the system especially the school system has become so far removed from the truth of our ancestry and in modern Times we are ships without a lighthouse Time to start educating our self I think

glad you addressed this Arran! if folks are gonna leave anything in nature it should always be biodegradable I really can’t stress this enough, gotta also make sure that it isn’t tied too tightly otherwise it can actually damage the bark and expose the tree to disease.. plus if they’re a young tree tying something around the wee one’s trunk can actually restrict growth and cut off circulation :(

I wonder if anyone in Scotland who needs income could sell a thin, tie-able material that breaks down faster, and sell it? People seem to find products faster than information.

Aye…Taking an ancient tradition a wee bitty too far I think! Someone should get in there and clean it up properly, get rid of all the non biodegradable nasty materials! Another great video though, Arran! Always really interesting content and well executed by yourself! So thanks for sharing! 👍🏻😊💙
