In my observation, this is also his meat and potatoes strategy against Pacquiao. From the very start he established distance and positioning against Pacquiao by making Manny occupied with his different varieties of jabs. It prevent Pacquiao from establishing his rhythm and angles.
Before this fight, Max said he was the best boxer in the UFC. In this fight, Volk out boxes the shit outta him

More than the punch, maweather touched his gloves. Thinking that Mayweather is reacting isn’t quite right. Mayweather was jabbing to CAUSE canelo to take action. He is not being reactive w the jab he is being first and THEN reacting to what Canelo does. This is called being a ballroom dancer. Responding and leading.
