Boogie Woogie , Blues & Classical Piano
Boogie Woogie , Blues & Classical Piano
Welcome to Boogie Woogie, Blues and Classical Piano - Performance, Tutorials & Sheet Music
I’ve been playing classical piano for approximately 20 years but have always had a fascination with boogie woogie and blues piano. In 2018 I found myself an amazing teacher and started having lessons online via Skype . I’m absolutely loving learning to play and understand this fabulous music ❤️
I've used KZread to share my progress with friends and family for a while but kept all the videos unlisted. In June 2021 I created this channel to share my boogie woogie journey with everyone. In late 2021 I started making really easy to follow, step by step tutorials to help you learn to play this wonderful music too. I hope you enjoy browsing my videos ❤️🎹
🎹📧 I also offer private one to one lessons online via Skype. Email for details.

Wow! Thank you for this very detail and beginner friendly lesson! This very helpful! May God bless you and your loved ones!
I'm practicing Boogie woogie and this is a great resource. Thank you ❤️
Thank you for the lovely feedback 😊😊 have fun 🎹❤️🎹
Hi, Nice tutorial. I am learning the boogie woogie in your very pedagogic book. I was wondering : is the lick at 04:10 (starting at the end of second bar) another lick on his own or it is a variation of lick #1, page 33). Kind regards
Hi 👋🏿 are you referring to Arthur Migliazzas book , How to Play Boogie Woogie ? Let me know if so , and I’ll check that page for you 😊 thanks for watching 🎹❤️🎹
Yes, @@boogiewoogieandbluespiano, this is exactly what I am talking about. Thank for your reply.
@@olivierdescamps3988 hi 👋🏿 sorry for the delay ! It’s not a variation of lick 1 . I think of it more as a descending variation on lick 5 ( page 56) although lick 5 doesn’t use the Bb or B . Page 59 may help explain why I think of it that way though 😊 please come back to me if that’s not helped 🎹❤️🎹
This is FANTASTIC! Thanks for making this!
😊😊 I’m pleased you like it 😀 thank you for watching 🎹❤️🎹
Love it!!!
Thank you for watching 😊😊🎹❤️🎹
the best tutorial ,thank for your hard work puting this videos
Thank you for the lovely feedback 😊😊 have fun 🎹❤️🎹
Link doesn’t work, is there anyone who can help me out?
Hi 👋🏿 I’m really sorry the link doesn’t work. Unfortunately it’s down to the composer of the music , George Reshetar , the link should take you directly to his online store , but it seems to not work anymore . You could try looking him up on here and google and emailing him 😊 hope that helps 🎹❤️🎹
the link does bot work? why?
Thanks SO much for making this. I’m learning to honour the memory of my grandfather who played this. Never having played piano before it’s tough but every day I’m getting closer and these videos make it possible. Thanks again!
Ahhhh what a lovely way to honour your grandfather ❤️ thank you for sharing that with me 😊
@@boogiewoogieandbluespiano My pleasure. Slowly getting the left hand going with the right. I may have it in about 3 months. Then Jimmy Yancy How Long Blues next. Learning something and knowing someone else completed the same journey is a interesting way to find out about them. Walking in there shoes and all that. Walking bass in this case!
Boogie Woogie piano stump #1

❤Love quincy Jones version sounds a little like the solo in Bad (Michael Jackson)
Thanks for watching 🎹❤️🎹
Comment obtenir feuille de musique et quel prix ?
Hi 👋🏿 you can find the sheet music here ⬇️ 384919.e-junkie.com/product/1748386 Thanks for watching 😊😊🎹❤️🎹
At the beginning of the video do you play a combination of licks and notes of the scale?
Hi 👋🏿 yes , I play snippets of a few different songs 😊 thanks for watching 🎹❤️🎹
@@boogiewoogieandbluespianoyeah, but when you play for instance Blueberry Hill, what does the improvisation consist of? I mean it is not played exactly like the original version and yet sounds pretty well
Oh I see what you mean 😊 well it would be difficult to explain in words what the Blueberry part consists of . It’s based off Arthur Migliazzas version ( the solo part ) . This is just a tutorial of the left hand pattern 😊
@@boogiewoogieandbluespiano thank you miss. I hope I can reach this level one day
@@gonzalomorales1342 i highly recommend Arthurs book “how to play boogie woogie piano “ and his videos on here of the 8 licks 👍🏿 link below 😊

That’s so good to hear! Your health is most important. I am old now. Near 79. I’m pretty good for my age. Still cutting firewood. I was down for over 3 months since thanksgiving with a swollen disc. Couldn’t work or practice. It’s finally getting better. I’m so appreciative!!! I can walk again, and cut wood and haul, and sit at the piano. So I’m grateful. I’ve been a. Outdoors worker all my life passion is piano, Just hard getting back into routine. Like I said you guys are my inspiration so I miss that. I have plenty to work on so no problem gfor the rest of my life. Played piano since I was 7 but never did boogie Woogie until last year when I found Arthur and his book!!! Priceless. Then I met you on his channel because you were always there and doing so good with your videos. Anyway I glad you returned my message!! Makes me happy!! Hope to see you and Arthur out here again.
@@brucejeric6701 hi 👋🏿 ahh I’m sorry to hear you’ve been struggling but glad to hear you’re on the mend ❤️🩹 that’s fantastic that you still love the piano so much after so many years 😊 Discovering boogie woogie is so rejuvenating isn’t it 😀😀 take care Bruce , don’t overdo the hauling and chopping ! 🎹❤️🎹

Nice. I loved the ending
Thank you for watching 😊😊🎹❤️🎹
@@boogiewoogieandbluespianohow long did it take you to reach that level?
@@gonzalomorales1342 hi 👋🏿 probably about 9 months but I could already play classical piano 😊 thanks for watching 🎹❤️🎹
@@boogiewoogieandbluespiano Thank you. Nine months sounds fair. That is comforting to know. Which hand is the hardest to master when it comes to boogie woogie?
@@gonzalomorales1342 the left hand without a doubt 😁 spend LOTS of time working on your left hand independence, this is definitely the key in my opinion 😊
🎵Nice one Val! How did I miss this one? Just came across it as I was scrolling thro' . Love the 8 to the bar octave left hand, gonna give this a try! Oh and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours! 🎅🎅🎹🎹👏👏👏👏🎵
Thanks so much Dave 😊😊 can you guess who I stole this from ? 😁😁😁 merry Xmas to you and your family ❤️ thanks for all your support this year 😊😊🎹❤️🎹
🎵I know Arthur will be only too pleased to know you stole this Valerie. We all "borrow or steal" from each other in this wonderful art form we lovers of blues and boogie play on the ol' 88's👍👍🎹🎹🎵@boogiewoogieandbluespiano
@@daveadams5 how did you guess 😂😂 every time I’m inspired to “borrow” it’s from Arthur 😁😁😁
What level of piano player should you be at, to play this song?
Hi 👋🏿 I’d say that you’d want to have been playing for about 18 months or so to tackle it comfortably 😊 good luck 🎹❤️🎹
Again, a great tutorial. Thank you so much. It is by far the best on this piece of Boogie Woogie.
Thank you so much 😀 I’m delighted that you’re finding it useful 😊😊 thanks for the lovely feedback 🎹❤️🎹
Great tutorial. One of the few ones, in which I can clearly see the arrangement of the fingers.
Thank you 😊 I’m so pleased you like it 😀thanks for watching 🎹❤️🎹
Thanks!
You’re welcome . Thank you very much for the Super Thanks 😊😊😊 much appreciated 🎹❤️🎹
Greetings! What woud be the proper fingering on tthe "chop" in C, to add the dominant 7 (Bb). I have be using My #2 (forefinger) on My left hand. Thank You
Hi 👋🏿 you can use whatever is comfortable for you but personally I use the thumb …. So 5+2 , then 5+1 , then 5+1 again 😊 hope that helps 🎹❤️🎹

@@boogiewoogieandbluespiano lol she loves it really don't think I'll manage Rudolph in time I'm only just finished how long blues I thought it would be easy being slow but it's took me a while but I can play it now just trying to get a recording of it now without pausing lol I'll send you a vid once I get it recorded, I understand that Val I've been pretty busy myself and practise has been lacking some weeks we need more days in the week to give us more piano time 😆
