Roof, roof, the roof is on fire… Drones kill tanks through weak top armor. So, is lighter really better? Active protection systems are a must. Modular electronic jamming systems as well. So are interactive communications with the other elements on the battlefield. This will enable tanks to engage in long range indirect fires, blurring the roles of tanks and SP artillery. That implies a bigger better protected vehicle, able to fire standard artillery sized rounds, think 155mm. Electric transmission is good too. Battery backup would allow fording of rivers. Find a crossing spot with good bottom, shut down the air breathing motor, seal it up, run it across under battery power, no matter how deep. Ok, maybe not the Congo or the Amazon, but you get the drift.

India should steer clear of this jet at the extreme price. It will be completely outdated in about five years. India should buy only two squadron of SU57 or F35. Tejas MK1 and MK2 are as good as Rafale and most importantly the money spent will stay in India and help the economy!! Besides India already has Rafales. Indian HAL should incorporate all the Rafale features on Tejas MK1 and MK2 and make them better than Rafale. Why to make France richer? In this instance India should copy China.

The SGT. York didn’t have advanced programmable ammunition and the fire control couldn’t lock on to certain airborne fast movers. These newer systems improve upon the 35 and 40mm systems, making them the most cost effective against today’s drone threats. Each round may cost $1000+, it’s still cheaper than a $100,000+ missile.

I'm not sure about the title. Why would the RAF Eurofighter be more deadly than the versions flown by Germany and Spain? The capablities of Leonardo's ECRS Mk.2 are not that much different from Hensoldt's Captor-E upgrade.

Somewhat questionable for the following reasons: 1) No radar solution on the vehicle. 2) What is the # of ammunition in reserve and how quick is it to reload? IMO the entire point of one of these "gun on civilian truck" systems ought to be the ability to operate independently for long periods of time. Food and water for the crew in the cab, maybe a sleeping cot behind the seats. 3) What is the protection in the cab? Can the system be fully operated from inside the cab? 4) Where is the APS? Low flying drones can still be a threat to this thing, a 40mm cannot tackle tiny suicide drones flying close to the ground.

Well Britain is getting closer and closer to bankruptcy so we'll better get used to seeing Toyota Hy-lux with anti aircraft guns mounted on the back of the trucks. It's the way of the future. It's the way of allies of the United States apparently. Hell maybe we in Europe are going to see the return of the religious wars era, Evangelicals vs the non-believers. Who knows. Wouldn't be surprised, US policies have become so insane, a greater appeal will have to be made to our inner psyche to continue bolstering support. So it's the all seeing eye of god again after failing to do it with CCTV.

Tanks will always be needed to support other ground troops. There will always be an arms race between tank protection and anti tank weapons. At the moment the anti tank weapons in the form of drones are leading, but this will go back and forth for an eternity. Infantry alone can not mount an effective offensive, they will always need support.

There is actually nothing unusual about the size and tonnage when compared to past heavy cruisers: The US Alaska Class cruisers built for WW II weighed in at about 30,000 tons; and the design was to specifically counter German pocket battleships and Japanese heavy cruisers. The Worcester Class (built after WW II) came in at about 18,000 tons fully loaded. Light cruisers typically came in about half (or less) of these tonnage. It's going to depend on the weaponry and defenses mounted on the ships to determine if these larger than normal current cruisers worldwide makes sense long term.

Rafale is only 4.5 gen fighter jet that is totally unproven except in the cyber world. The fact of the matter is it is not battle -proven fighter jet like F16, F35, Sukhoi or Mig etc. It could be as great as its advertisements or NOT. No one knows!!

@@stratfordqbiswas853 So which one is it? Is it unproven, or not fit to face more modern jets, or too expensive? Or the three? First it is combat proven. Yes, IS and Libya were not peer adversaries, but who have the Mig-29s fought and come on top? Who have the Su-27 fought? In the 4.5gen, it is the most combat proven jet. Will it last against an F-35? It does not matter, because they will never face each other. How will it fare against a Su-57? Who knows? The Su-57 is totally combat unproven. Its real capabilities are unknown. And we don't even know if Russia will manage to produce it in numbers. The J-20 is a more interesting match. It also totally unproven, but it's almost 20 years younger, so it's not surprising it could be more than a match. But it has engine issues. And the Rafale is regularly modernised, so could have the upper hand in some areas, for example EW. Regarding the cost... The Rafale is expensive, but so are every 4.5 and 5th gen aircrafts. It is cheaper than the Eurofighter, arguably cheaper than the F-35... But whether it is or not does not matter since India is not getting the F-35 anyway.

@@stratfordqbiswas853 You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about!!! Before the Rafale, the Mirage 2000 was already an incredible aircraft, on par with the F-16 in his hay days, and even better in some areas. The Mirage 4000 showed Dassault could improve the design even further, and the Rafale improved on the design again. In 2000 it promised a lot but was a bit raw, lacking integration of several systems and confined to air-to-air missions, but already promising. By 2011 it was mature though, and surprised a lot of people by flying missions in Libya without NATO support (they flew the day before the U.S. and UK came) and without EW support. That’s where the hype came from. Real combat missions. India only came after.

The CTA international cannon is the best new auto Cannon in the world right now the ammo is great reduced by almost half the size of current 40mm case ammo! And i hope that the Italian ideas of developing a HVC 60mm cannon with IMI, actually is already developed but they will never enter mass prodution and is superior to the majority of cannons now a days even the Mark 110 57mm the 60mm HVC cannon is capable of defeating almost any body armour at 1500meters and can reach easily 8km max range, but NATO needs is a lighter 76mm light towed howitzer that weights a ton or with wheels and carriage, and start to produce the DRACO armoured IFV version with a 76mm/L62 cannon in a fast IFV with all the types of ammo around the globe would be a great weapon for troop support worked fine in the WW 1 in the French and allied armies and others and will worked fine right now, and NATO needs a 127mm/L58 light towed howitzer with a great range of ammo already in mass prodution and capable of hiting targets at more than 30km to rival the russians 122mm and 130 D-30 cannon that is one of the best worldwide period, why NATO dont start to develop new improve solutions and a more heavier mortar of 166mm and a 40 to 50 kilo rounds that can create true devastation, things have to evolve in WW 2 was develop more weapons that in the latest 85 years its ridicolous, military industrial complex is always great for any economy the Americans now it and the Russians now it to, Europe is the ones who failed to understand and they praticly invented war
