The first 6 seasons of Travels By Narrowboat are available on Amazon Prime, with Season's 7, 8, 9 and the latest Season 10, exclusively on this KZread channel.
In Travels by Narrowboat, I journey along the UK canal system aboard my narrow boat 'Aslan' (links below), visiting new places, viewing fabulous scenery and enjoying an alternative living lifestyle.
Motorcycle Road Trips is a new series on this channel - in the first season I explore the Scottish Islands, travelling on a variety of ferries, and camping in breathtaking locations.
Also on this channel, there are various motorcycle videos, as well as videos of my VW T25 Camper Restoration / Repair, and maintenance work on a Land Rover Discovery TD5.
Photography has been a big passion of mine and as well as photography videos here on KZread, there's also my popular blog of all things street photography called (strangely enough), The Street Photography Blog.
You'll find all the links below.

What a lovely video. I have been told that the road going from Inveraray down through Tarbert and into Campbeltown is the famous “Long and Winding Road” in the song by Paul McCartney. Lots of twists and turns but beautiful views of Loch Fyne.
Your observation regarding the negativity of the media is spot on! The less we listen to them and engage more with nature the better off we are! I loved seeing the sheep. my grandmother raised sheep in Ireland in a setting very similar on Clare Island! Absolutely gorgeous!
Hi Kevin. I love watching these videos. How many episodes are there ? The more the better. 😊
I miss aslan
Beautiful
Really enjoying the road trip. Stay safe and wishes for beautiful campsites. 😎
I stayed there last weekend. Fidden Farm campsite? Stunning place.
Yes an incredible location on the edge of a bay and views out to sea.
Who's driving that bus, Max Verstappen? Guess we'll find out next time. Love these videos, keep them coming Kevin!
😆 Definitely tried to close the door on me.
"Someone's been out polishing the water." This is one of the reasons why I so enjoy your videography, Kevin. I had just been thinking how smooth and shiny the bay looked.
Are you missing the Harley?
Yes I do from time to time. I ask myself quite often, why did I sell it?
@@CountryHouseGent That being said, the Beamer looks like a smooth ride!
@rbagrizzly Definitely and my lower back thanks me for it. 🙂
So, can we officially call you a "Red Neck" now? Great video. Thanks so much.
Pity it has only 1 ½ gears (speeds) :-). But seriously, the gen. rule is for this scenario: for slow vehicles, don't wait after a car goes by, and for quick ones do wait until the next car is coming somewhat close.
Kevin 🙋♀️ Really enjoying the bike trip!! Stay safe and dry.
Thanks again for another interesting video. Pleased for you that the weather so far has been kind .
As usual, so absorbing, the end came all too soon! That camping site looked pristine. How nice to have such agreeable places to stay. Tarbert looks a lovely town. You are certainly having a great relaxing time with glorious weather. Not to mention the coffees and takeaways! Looking forward to Part Five. 😀
That's a lovely big sky up there. Amazing landscape. Very enjoyable as a viewer.
Lovely video Kevin, you’ve captured your journey perfectly
Morning Kevin. Another cracking video. Experiencing that trip must have been good for your soul, watching the video's certainly is for ours. Thanks Kevin. Absolutely fell in love with Tarbet, I nearly shouted "Co-op" as it came into view (little things and all that ha ha!) Thanks again Kevin, always a real treat. All the best for now, Floss & Jan.
Hi Kevin, fantastic place to live so quite and peaceful. Thank you for sharing. Take 😘 care X X X
Loving this footage Kevin it draws me in! Love the bike too.
Kevin, loved your choice of roads to bike on, and the simple lunch as well. What kind of mileage are you getting? Just curious please keep us updated on any maintenance as well, cheers Charlie from Pennsylvania 😂
Gooday Charles. Hope you're doing great after your surgery. The bike averages around 48 mpg, which together with a 6.5 gallon tank gives an incredible range. Very useful out in the sticks.
Thank you, Kevin, for sharing your adventure! Truly enjoyable!
Nice! Such a lovely ride today. ❤
So relaxing to have a quick ride on a motorbike with you!
I remember when my family used to fish for herring in Loch Fyne, last time I was around there and like Mallaig it’s sort of lost its soul. But hey that’s the way of this world of ours now I’m afraid.
Looking at that night frost - I was assuming that these trips were almost contemporary, i.e. June 2024? Or was it May?
This episode was filmed on the 27 April. I discuss the filming, editing and uploading schedule, and the reasons for it, in the bike intro video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lYuB3NuGkpnVZto.html
Another brilliant episode Kevin, I am earmarking these campsites for my 1st big roadtrip with "Wee Eric" The camper 😊🏴 oh and of course the wee cafe's lol 😅🤤 Good times!!
I’m curious… you don’t paint the underside of the boat or wasn’t that shown in the video? Question two… the bumpers attach with chains, doesn’t that cause wear points where the chain touches the boat? If it does, could you have small pieces of rubber, tires etc underneath to protect the boat? Chain bumpers! 😊
Hi. Regarding blacking the underside, please check out the top comment on this video. Yes there is a slight amount of rubbing of the paintwork but never goes down to the metal.
I love your new haircut
Your choice of where to keep your fishing boat is going to end up like playing musical chairs, in my mind anyway. Sounds silly? I enjoyed the ride along the countryside. Thanks for taking the time to shoot and edit the videos! See you next time.
That breakfast looked scrumptious, love a bit of fried pudding, trouble is these days most supermarket black pudding is not a patch on the butchers
loving it Kev...keep going lad keep going.. balls of steel to ride that BMW...wouldn't get me on one mate..I'm 53..don't think I'd trust meself on one lol. Watching you with my Fish& chips and pint o Cider...raise a glass to you.. God speed and stay safe....
53? You're a spring chicken. I'm 56 🤗
@CountryHouseGent you're an inspiration, mate ...love what you do..kev you are the GOAT..that's enough fan boying from me ..cheers for your videos and as always stay safe
I thoroughly enjoyed your commentary, your videoing, and your choice of what to show us as you made your way on the smooth road and the bumpy road. The place is completely stunning! I’m so glad you’ve decided to do this and share these videos with us. Thanks, Kevin!
Thank you Lynette
Another great video Kevin put together lovely weather again looking forward to the next video 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks for taking us along! Been enjoying your videos since I found you on Amazon prepandemic. Seems like another time and place
Yes, last time we moored in Lochranza, it was millpond, so not worried anchoringb in weed, had half pint in the hotel, then a malt on board, then a katabatic wind set up at 02.00, and we were shot out , lifejackets on, and up to Tarbert, Loch Fyne at 06.00, millpond again, the locals thought we were over reacting, lol.
In the 1980s i camped on the grass at the Castle
Enjoying the canals of the UK. You have inspired me to look into what canals we have in the US. The Erie is still open in places, so I will continue explore.
With 90 F outside, the frost you were scratching off your bike made me feel very nostalgic… The memory of frosty morning air was the sweetest! What a beautiful time you are having! Thank you for sharing!
loved the baked bean recipe, i cannot find the recipe for the lamb curry would it be in a video without cooking in the title?
Great to hear you liked the baked bean recipe. The Lamb curry is in my first narrowboat Christmas special kzread.info/dash/bejne/h2Vlt7KQZLLSXaw.html
Absolutely love these episodes. The scenery is gorgeous. The hum of the bike and open spaces. Love it!
You are having a great time, ive never been on that short ferry trip, 10 pounds to camp, a winner . Your weather has been decent, good video.
Awwww more wonderful scenery and of course a castle thank you for sharing it’s just grand be careful and tc Kevin all the best the oldies 🤗🤗👍👍
Fantastic Scenery Kevin.
How about SCORE! Another lovely production from CHG!!
The ole bmw is nice and quiet for a big old beast ,,how’s she behaving? I’m enjoying the views bet they are amazing when your absorbed it it ,
Indeed it is immersive Tony. All distractions disappear and it becomes just the road, machine and yourself.
Black Pudding = Blood Sausage......why call it something it isn't?
Good question. All I know is the British have called it black pudding for many hundreds and hundreds of years.
Always a pleasure and never a chore watching your videos Kevin. A great way to start the weekend.
Now you're back from your trip what do you do with the bike?
Hi Philip, the bike's back in storage now.
@@CountryHouseGent I didn't realize that your roadtrip is over. I was wondering how you did your editing while on the road, but I guess you didn't do any of that.
Yes it's not possible for me to edit on the road. I talked about it in the bike intro video kzread.info/dash/bejne/lYuB3NuGkpnVZto.html
A mention of your ‘old man’ and a biker too. Assuming he is no longer with us, I bet he would have been so proud of you and all you have achieved/are achieving. 🤗
Hi Helen. No he's alive and well (I believe) but haven't seen him for quite a few years. Such is life.
@@CountryHouseGent So sorry, I shouldn’t make assumptions……you’ve turned out to be an awesome human being without his input so it’s his loss! 😎
