I didn’t know Cristiano Ronaldo’s beginnings leading to his becoming famous, but I always wanted to be one of those stars that he is, so I cheer for him because I mostly have to do things on my own to get success without help, and only one parent pays for my school expenses, and that one parent didn't have much to depend on while going to university.

I think in strictly in terms of WC success the 1970 tournament was like the all-star world cup, especially with the added bonus of a 3rd-time winner keeping the trophy. The final KO stage saw all 3 double world champions in the semifinals with the last semifinalist being the winner of the QF which had the only 2 other champions in history. It's fitting that Brazil won by beating it's 2 other competitors for the treble in the SF and F.

1:12:50 may God rest his soul. We saw glimpses of his absolute best, but what he gave us ordinary fans is the joy of football. And I am not an Argentina fan in any stretch of the imagination. But Maradona embodied everything about the country of Argentina, and that why he is worshiped in his homeland and football fans all over the world. For that, we cant thank "El Dios" enough.

56:24 Asif Kapadia documentary on Diego Maradona's fall in Napoli really made me cry. When Maradona narrated, "When I came to Napoli, I was greeted by thousands. When I left, I was alone." You could feel how hurt he was.

I never got to see Diego live, but he is incredible. A true rebel in every sense and I did not even know that he was the one who pioneered the concept of personal trainer, media officer, etc. Mexico 86 will always be his zenith, but what he did with Napoli was just as impressive. He took a club that no history of winning and made them into champions both in Italy and in Europe. And back then the UEFA Cup was really competitive with the 2nd and 3rd placed teams in the leagues going to the UEFA Cup.
