There are descendents of the Titanic victims that could ask whatever existing owners of what remained of the White Star line looking for compensation for their family members 😉 who might have died on the Titanic decks, good 👍 luck proving that. Manifest yes but it doesn't mean its true. I can see a cruise 🛳 line today stopping anyone talking about the Titanic sinking it isnt relative to 2024 . Hear we are talking about the Titanic. They don't want that can opened.

It just made me think. If the first compartment was only breached in the water tank compartment filled with water anyway and the damage in boiler room number 5 was very small in the coal bunker, was there any possibility they could prevent the Titanic from sinking if they managed to control the water in boiler room 5? Any thoughts?

Yeah I know this was 4 weeks ago but I just came across a bright side video on Titanic which is pretty dang bad and it was released 9 hours ago Talking about Titanic had a giant hole in it or something And Titanic sink backwards and when Titanic split in half the front half and the back half went underwater at the same time when that's clearly not true. It's pretty bad 😂😅

What if they were to design submersible about that has built in jack to help lift it up. Might take about fifteen types of them to help lift it.

I read false article saying the cables snapped and the piece you described sank at the bottom. So it actually on display. I'm going to stop paying attention to qura for now on.

Also the iceberg hitting head-on being 10 times the weight of the Titanic, possibly could have caused shockwave pressure forcing rivets out nearer the stern and the ship could have sunk in minutes.

The ironic thing is the Titanic's greatest defence once breached, caused the ship to sink faster as more weight from the seawater concentrated at the bow.

I thoroughly understand Sam's disdain for the White Star Line's actions, but those are common practices even today. OceanGate had its passengers sign contracts relieving them of any responsibility up to and including death. Death was mentioned several times in their contracts. They avoided saying passengers and I believe referred to them as crewmembers making investments in the project. They wanted to avoid any fiduciary responsibility associated with the word "passenger. " Amusement parks often have disclaimers to deny responsibility for anything happening on their rides. Companies that provide assistance or monetary support to individuals suffering from calamities related to their businesses usually have people sign contracts saying they won't sue, before the benefits are allowed to be dispersed. Companies often have people sign all kinds of documents or have statements of presumed contract acceptance upon use of their services. Documents they often know won't hold up in court. But if they make you believe you've signed away your rights, you likely won't try to exercise them, and then they've beat you. The documents did their job. Sam was exactly right when he said that people back in Titanic times are like they are today (said relative to unscrupulous people sending out fake boat distress signals). After commercial plane crashes, airlines investigate the passengers to find dirt, troubled marriages, financial problems, scholastic standing, etc. They use the information to argue down compensation and get families to quickly take lower amounts. Dollar amounts are often based on earning potential and whether they would have been likely to stay with their spouse. They've been known to threaten smearing the victims if it goes to court. They say they are just presenting the facts.

If it had been a clean split then maybe it could’ve survived but because of how it split jaggedly too much of the Stern was ripped open to the water not to mention because it had remained pretty much empty during the sinking that when it began to flood it flooded rapidly and the damaged areas couldn’t hold the water back not to mention any bulkheads or any other protection was probably crushed by the influx of water flooding in, not to mention the heavy machinery would of dragged it down.

25:00 Yes, slag can make metal break. like bubbles in concrete it makes the structure uneven, thus creating weak spots. Carbon also improves strengh of Iron to a degree, too much though and the Iron becomes too brittle. Steel is made by reducing the carbon content of molten iron by blasting pure oxygen into it, burning off most carbon. With less carbon the steel gets more flexible and less stiff and brittle, again to a degree. If i remember correctly iron has a carbon content of up to 10% or even 15% where Steel has no more than 2.5%
