My husband and I are currently aiming to save $10,000 to put towards renovations and a deck for an above-ground pool. So, we've started meal prepping and cooking dinner at home. One of our most significant expenses after the mortgage and insurance is takeout/dining. I've begun moving 10-20% of our paychecks to a secondary savings account before we spend them.

So what if you are able to make payments and have never missed a payment, but the amt. of debt is just too high and its taking away money from other needs, would they negotiate with me then? Or is it better to let it be unpaid for 90 days so then there is more negotiating power?

This is such a good topic. I’m in my late 40s and have been losing sleep lately and having lots of anxiety around the fact that I’ve waited too long to save for retirement…I feel so much more hopeful now! Thank you!!

I started preparing breakfast at home instead of constantly spending money on a breakfast sandwich at work every morning. I'm already seeing a difference in my bank account just from this change.

My boyfriend is ok with a lot of clutter and mess. I am not, having grown up with semi-hoarders as a kid. We are past middle age. I love the idea of living with him. We enjoy each other's company and we enjoy sex. Also it would be great to get rent on my small apartment. But hen I look at his place and say "wow, he's got things spread all over the place here. There's no room for me without a major reorganization and purging." And that's where it ends. I am sad about this and I feel guilty for not trying harder. Thanks for your great insights. These are good questions to think about. Co-habitating is very serious, more so than marriage, in a way.

I just hate not knowing what I'm doing especially where I'm at now. I'm at Lowes and I feel like they expect me to already know what I'm doing and I don't. I hate when everyone is going on breaks and I'm just looking around not knowing what to do and everyone expects me to just know what needs done when I just started last week.

I don't like how this video is constantly trying to sell something throughout.. "we have..." , "you can take one of our..." , etc. I wasn't really paying attention because I got caught up doing something else , but I know I kept looking over and hearing something being pitched to a prospective customer .. I hope there isn't a price tag attached , b/c we're here to save money , baby , lol

I just started a new strategy. I divide each paycheck into money for debt bills (including extra debt payments), living expenses and none debt bills, and savings. Debt and living expenses/other bills get priority, and savings get what is left. Right now the percentage breakdown is 45:37:18. While the 70:20:10 method would probably pay down my debt quicker, I have too many things I'm wanting to save for, and I would rather try to save for them now then have to put them on a credit card when that unexpected car repair or trip comes up. The 70:20:10 and the other methods will be more feasible once I get my monthly debt minimums lowered. Thanks for the video!

I am over $JMD 5 mil in debt and own nothing. The frightening thing about this is that I am 47 years old and about to live on the street with my kid. If someone is reading this and wants to help me with a side job or offer their help as a financial coach I would greatly appreciate it.
