I love this movie, I used to program an employee movie night at The Alamo when I worked there and showed it in full color and fully uncut. That was an experience that was even more disturbing than Cannibal Holocaust in the theater.

The only _Phantasm_ movies that I like are 1 & 2. Parts 3, 4, & "Ravager" I really don't care for, dude. At the end of _Phantasm II,_ the Tall Man wins. End of story.

This is such a frustrating film. Like you said there was so much potential not realised. This, sadly is a recurring theme with Barker's adaptations onto film. The studios, execs and marketing teams just don't get him.

Great review. As much as I love Maiden myself, most times a classical score works better in a horror movie and metal can take you out of the zone. Hellraiser 3 is a good example of this.

I was neutral on this for a long time (with the exception of collectors box sets). However when streaming services started to chop and change what they have in the library and have actually started to edit movies for "sensitivities" I've swung hard towards physical media. Also a lot of streaming services don't have full catalogues of horror film franchises (there is always one or two movies missing due to some random licensing issue). The cost of players can be a con for physical media, especially if you want a region free device.
