How is it underrated if I WANT IT!!!! I NEED IT!!!
As a veteran from back in the day, I could become super sonic by the end of Hydro City, Hyper Sonic by the end of Mushroom Hills making Flying Battery Zone onwards an excellent high speed runthrough, particulary with the magnetic effect of the lighting shield, the directional blast of hyper was kinda game breaking but so, so enjoyable, so I have to say I always preferred the back half, despite loving Hydro City, Carnival Night and Ice Cap. Usual finish was 99 Lives 35+ continues, loved this combined S3&K most of all sonic games, how can anyone not think it's the best of them all?
Damnit! Now I need to go to Sonic Retro I haven't been in years. Need to follow up on the Sonic 2 HD project!
It irked me that they used Game Gear ports of slightly-superior Master System games

Who else has got that Sonic 3 level select to work? I have…only once, after so…so many tries. Ah when you’re a kid, don’t have responsibilities and can waste an hour trying to input a level select code rather than playing the game for an hour….and beating it.

Sonic CD was like a holy grail for me because wasnt the first Sonic Game I ever play but the first time I ever saw Sonic and because this Game cover sells Sonic CD as the Main gem out there, Made me watch that Game as something both rare and importan at the same time, so I can tell Gems Collection did a fine job with me

I'm sorry but I have a huge love for SONIC MEGA COLLECTION PLUS.... the music carries it hard tho. The menu music is so fcking good. That's the collection that is far more underrated than the Gems collection.
I think a Team Chaotix detective agency game would be so fucking funny and cute. Take elements from Detective Pikachu or even The Murder of Sonic, JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!! THEY'RE DETECTIVES YOU WANT ON YOUR SIIIIIIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me personally, Sonic CD comes after Sonic 1, and Sonic 2 comes after Sonic CD
0:07 [LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER] Shadow 05 is definitely flawed but Knuckles Chaotix is actually a really fun relaxing time, it's a more laid back game in it's level structure and vibes, i can't defend sky patrol (lol) but you could have put Tails' Adventure instead, a slower but still really fun sorta action puzzle platformer. Also, while what you say at 1:36 is true, it would be a sacrifice on the developer's visions to cut so much stuff, i can go without some of the stuff like most of shadow's vehicles but it was totally a problem with SEGA rushing Sonic Team, and then they realised that when making unleashed and said "well, i guess we gotta keep thing smaller" but they still had secondary characters show up in the nintendo ds ver of sonic colors. Basically, Sega just wouldn't let 'em cook lol.
Unleashed is one of the biggest, most ambitious games in the series. They were not exactly "keeping it smaller" with that game.

I always wanted a silver the hedgehog spinoff. They never really explained his back story or how he met Blaze or got his powers. It’s SUCH a shame. I also would like a shadow the hedgehog 2. We’re KINDA getting that with shadow x sonic generations but a full blown new shadow game would be awesome.
Were any of these games good? NO!
Tails adventure and Knuckles Chaotix are good. So yes.
Silver and Blaze would be front runners if we ever got another game like these

Knuckles Chaotix is good though. Arguably the only game that evolved the Sonic formula.
I agree we need more sonic games for his friends. Here's some ideas. Knuckles is the easiest for me. He could be a platformer game or a treasure hunting simulator where he collects gems. Maybe we could have a spin off of Rogue and Knuckles one uping each other. Maybe it could be a player two cast. Amy would definitely fit best at survival horror or visual novels. We could have a spin off on Amy rose when she was Classic and have her try to escape Eggman or metal sonic. Or have a fun parody of a dating game where Amy tries to find anything to woo Sonic. We could even have played as Tails and his game could've been inventing or tinkering objects. Like creating Rube Goldberg machines. The Chaotix are easily the best idea in mind. Maybe they could have a fun detective game. Overall I believe there's boundless possibilities like a Blaze The Cat game or Silver or Cream. Hope they could try doing spin offs again despite the setbacks.
Feels like it would be easy enough for SEGA to work with Microsoft to get Shadow the Hedgehog on Xbox back compat.

i'm currently working on an Amy-centric story featuring a couple other female characters from the SEGA games and Archie comics as companions in a whimsical coming-of-age story across many magical dream worlds. it focuses on more traditional skillful platforming with a handful of character abilities and costumes to overcome obstacles. the major inspirations are the gameplay and aesthetics of the Disney Castle of Illusion and Magical Quest games with fairy tale villains inspired by Sailor Moon Super S and the Nights series.
The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog really is a well made game by Sega, and it's super fun too. Definitely took the Pheonix Wright route with this one.
Sonic Jems was the first Sonic experience I had, so to say it holds a special place in my heart is an understatement. It shaped my appreciation for the franchise, and is why I love CD, and Metal Sonic.
I still toss on Chaotix from time to time. It's a joy.

I think it would be really cool if we got another Knuckles Chaotix styled game, Sonic Heroes does kinda come close, but having a proper sequel would be cool!

I feel like people bash Knuckles’ Chaotix a little too hard, like yeah, the level design is a bit unfinished, the enemies are fucking worthless, and Heavy and Bomb are probably one of the worst playable characters in any video game, but the game has an amazing soundtrack, rivalling other classic Sonic soundtracks, the special stages are heavily underrated, being one of the best in the series, and the pixel art is beautiful, so beautiful in fact that it seemed to be the inspiration for Sonic Mania’s art style. The game is not perfect and I understand that, but it is not as bad as people say it is. It has so many good things going for it that people completely overlook just to talk about how bad the mechanics are, even though they probably completely skip the tutorial. There’s a reason why there’s a tutorial at the beginning of the game, (unlike the other Sonic games for the time) it’s because the game’s mechanics are a lot more complex and less as “grab and go” as the Genesis Sonic games were. It takes time to understand how to play and master Knuckles’ Chaotix’s mechanics, and some people just don’t have that time, and I understand that. All I want is for this game to have a second chance on a newer platform, as the game lived and died on the very console it was released on, the 32X, which is undoubtably a worthless piece of shit, and that is a fate worse than death. This game is my guilty pleasure and nothing will ever change that for me, and I’m OK with other people’s opinions, I’m just trying to make it clear why this game deserves a second chance.
