Screw this. Do something worth wild for people. Like a guaranteed income. This would solve so many problems, and after the first year would pay for itself. This is a no brainer.

The progress of technology is to put more and more power into the hands of the individual. What needs consideration regarding AI is the system/organization that would be required to monitor and the system/organization that would pursue, prosecute, check up on same. Both of these, independently would need to be larger than the entire existing government. AI cannot be regulated. What lies ahead is smaller states and even (!) individuals having and wielding power currently only in the hands of sophisticated and wealthy governments. That day is about to fade, and quickly. This bill says in essence, well you really shouldn't and ought not to. The mechanism to monitor, interdict or interrupt prohibited activity simply does not and will never exist.

Thats hilarious, its a joke, right? 20 billion dollar corporations want to centralize creative production, expression, text analysis, video and all your personal data, is practising ruthless data scraping, intellectual property laundering and erasing entire professions every month. And you speak of "more and more power in the hands of an individual" due to this technology?

It seems incredibly disingenuous, hypocritical to be displaying concern about the harms that might possibly occur from the use of AI while previously having legislated to grant freedom from liability to companies producing experimental gene therapies. these therapies which were then subsequently coercively used on the uninformed populations of these countries. This apparent 'care' to protect individuals can't possibly be accepted as the EU's genuine motive.
