I have always wanted to see an honest review on one of those tumblers. I have the vibrating parts cleaner, it is awful. Im sure there is something it is good for, but for me it is loud and takes forever for even modest results. Thanks for sharing, this was fun to watch. Cheers

Hi Ben. I'm a little late to the party as I just came across your video I don't know if you have restored the wooden handle screwdriver that came with the large screw yet, but I believe the screw is so ypu can add a metal butt to the wooden handle. I've seen 357 Magdad do that before He cleaned up the handle, drilled a hole in the center of the butt, ground down and polished the screw head tapped the hole in the handle and threaded it, cut off the screw, and threaded or epoxied into the handle. This gives it a polished metal end. He is a superb craftsman and does some great restorations with Chucks help on the polishing. 😊👍

I would suggest learning how to properly swage sleeve fittings and those “grommets” as you call them are insulators, vibration insulators, they mimimize the transference of vibration of the chime tube to the suspension cable, thus prolonging the tone.

Great job. Well done. I do have one question, though. Why didn't you just file the little knub off with a handfile insdeat of setting up your benchtop sander? (Not a criticism, just a query).

I think the concrete underneath is probably cracked and a previous owner chose to hide it that way. Or maybe they used it as a game room.😃
