I absolutely loved this vlog! It was so cool to see behind the scenes of 2 female DJ’s. I loved ya’lls vibe and chemistry as artist. Ya’ll did great btw despite the tech issues. And kudos to y’all for managing such a wide age range of 21-70😅 I’m just entering into my 30’s and I’d like to DJ but I’m a Single Mom and I was thrilled to hear her positive expressions and experience. I feel like I’m late to the game due to following the path I thought “I was supposed to take”…. The comment about strippers being mothers too was like 🤯💯big facts!!! Us Mothers can do anything. I am curious to know more about the lane of corporate events and gigs that cater to working mothers of 9-5 but still would like to pursue DJ’ing. What suggestions or advice would you share? I’ve never done a public session and am new but really enjoy the art and skill. Thank you
😍 So awesome! This is a vibe and cool flex 💅🏾 Are opportunities such as this via personal networking and pitching or do you work with an agent?
Thanks for sharing DJ Gurl … This was a cool behind the scenes and how DJ’ing keeps you on your toes especially as it relates to special requests and then figuring out which songs to transition. Also analyzing how you can improve (like you mentioned the sound was loud at the beginning and not wanting to play certain songs too long). Thanks for the BTS and keep up the great work!
Are the dj girl bags still available?
Hiii! I do still have DJ GURL bags...they're similar to the one in this video (I had to switch bag companies) - here is the link to it: my-store-c5d98f.creator-spring.com/listing/dj-gurl-2024?product=1815

👍👍👍👍
Ты очень прикольная и сексуальная❤❤❤
K La Vie is such a smooth name and you're so professional. My issue has to do with if I have to use the bathroom and leave my equipment unattended, or even when you had to leave your equipment to go and park. Do you use DJ insurance? And if so, do you have a video covering that? BTW thanks for this video, I really enjoyed watching your setup and event blog.
Hello everyone, I recently stumbled upon a really cool video titled HOW I TRANSPORT MY DJ EQUIPMENT - Little ol' me. In the video, the creator shows us their innovative way of transporting their DJ equipment, making it easier and more efficient for them to set up at events. If you're interested in DJ tips or enjoy seeing creative solutions, definitely check out this video and give it a thumbs up! HOW I TRANSPORT MY DJ EQUIPMENT - Little ol' me.
I'm glad you feel better talking about it - harrowing and scary to think about
Love this video! Great tips for transporting your gear without breaking the bank. Thanks for sharing!
So rare to see female Djs doing they thang, ppl love you I see
☺🙏🏾!
Kool! Keep going! Very motivating
What is that intro song lol
LoL! The song playing in the background that I am dancing to or the song that plays right before I start talking?
@@DJGURL Lol the song when your logo pops up! btw great video.. very informative
@@IMadeMyKZreadNameAge17 Ohh! Ya know It was just a beat loop I found somewhere. Not sure of the name of the artist but the track I believe was called "Afrohouse." 😬
What do you do when u have to lug your equipment up/down stairs
This is why I highly suggest that everyone have a weekly strength training regimen at least 2x a week to keep their muscles strong and trained up because when it comes to stairs there is no way around it; you'll have to lift and carry equipment piece by piece up the steps if there is no elevator around. This is also why I state in my contract that there needs to be easy accessibility for me to load in and out my equipment or otherwise the client will need to provide me with assistance for load in and load out.
Really enjoyed this 💃🏿
🙏🏾💕💕💕
Awwwwsome!!!!!🎊🎉💕
This video is definitely informative. Thank you🙏🏿
I hate dj’ing outside… me and heat don’t get along . Plus my MacBook doesn’t like it either 🥴🥴😒🤦🏾♂️
Do you need a DJ license? Appreciate your input 👍 Much blessings 🙌 🎛🎚🎧😎👍
Nice and sturdy cart.. great job DJ Peace
Those DJ stands are what I need!!! Whats the name of them?? This definitely will help my back 😂
Oh yea these speaker stands come in handy. There was no way I was gonna try to keep lifting speakers on to stands plus I am short so I could never get the speakers up high enough to where the music wasn't blasting into people's faces as they walked by. Try these stands here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CD3QYW/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=djgurl7-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B000CD3QYW&linkId=535a5ac74de8dc759e3b944ff2b1c2c8&th=1
You explained this so well. I already use all the ideas, but fancied hearing someone elses take on it. I do and don't mix in key, digital tracks are easier (i'll check the key on beatport or elsewhere) ... but vinyl, it's using the ears and your suggested tricks to mix. Great info for the beginner, or long time djs out there. Thank-you!
Yea definitely necessary to have a good ear using vinyl. Requires some more skill and practice for sure. Although I guess you could just look up the key of the song that's on vinyl by using a digital version of it. Sometimes that's not so accurate so training your ears is essential.
Congratulations on your all of your success!!! You’re an inspiration! I would love to see a business breakdown video on how to get started. It’s hard doing this on my own. 😅
Thank you much Het-Heru for the love!! And, ok, I'll add that video to my list of videos to create. 🙏🏾
Big congratulations to you! Great video and as always, so many useful insights. You give so much value and I love your authenticity... Oh and the footage of the sunny day while driving, that was very much appreciated. Someone get me to San Francisco now!!! Keep doing what your doing and keep the content coming. Lots of love from London, UK xx
Thank you, Mumma! SF is waiting for you. I appreciate the love from the UK. I plan to get out to the UK within the next year or 2. You keep doing your thing too, I see you!
Gratitude
Very helpful Thank you very much 🙏
great insight and thank-you for sharing!
Thank-you, this is such sound advice and some things I had thought about, but not given attention to... so thanks for the reminder too! I've been Djing since a teenager, but only thrown myself into it more over the past 5 years. Music is my true passion and if I can make it more of this, in terms of a side hustle, then even better..... more time doing what I love and to make money too, that would be awesome. EPK and photos next, then agencies, whilst pushing myself, learning learning learning and keep going to youtube too. Thank-you again!
Thank you for your comments! I have more videos coming soon.. but definitely keep going with your music passion. The more you're in it, the more opportunities will come about. Keep it going!
@@DJGURL thanks, so true and look forward to your future insights! Have a great week 👍
Do you need to sign to a booking agent to work with one? How much do you suggest a DJ should charge for a gig?
These are great questions and I'll probably do a video on it sometime soon. It all depends on the type of agency/company you're with. Certain ones will treat it as if you are an employee or a contract worker so no signing is really needed. Others may require signing especially if you are looked at as an artist DJ on their roster or something. As for price that depends on your skill level and what others are willing to pay for your services. It also depends on what services you're offering (like are you doing a wedding with serval add-ons or are you DJing at a club where you don't have to bring equipment?). For a more reliable DJ, maybe $100 per hour is a good starting point for your mobile events but spinning a club or a wedding or something else may have a different rate that is more suitable. Also factor in any crazy extra expenses you may have to pay but in the end, make the rate you charge make sense.
@@DJGURL thanks. Is there a booking agent or agency you recommend?
I’ve learned to mix buy counting bars from dj rob swift.the same method can be applied to controllers as well.
Good looking out!
Great tips. I see all the equipment you suggested, except the speakers, the link says speakers but it goes to the bags. Can you suggest some?
Thanks for the letting me know about the speaker link being wrong. Here is a link to the speakers I suggested: www.amazon.com/QSC-K8-2-Active-Powered-Loudspeaker/dp/B06Y42XXH6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=27CDROLX0KTUY&keywords=qsc+k8&qid=1665643070&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjkxIiwicXNhIjoiMy43NiIsInFzcCI6IjEuMjUifQ%3D%3D&s=musical-instruments&sprefix=qsc+k8%2Cmi%2C124&sr=1-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.2b70bf2b-6730-4ccf-ab97-eb60747b8daf The bigger sized speakers (K10's, K12's, or K15's) are also suggested but for a small mobile DJ set-up the QSC K8's haven't failed me yet.
Looks like everyone was having a Blast 💥 nice job!
This was a great time indeed! 🤗
Love the content and wishing you much more success !!!
Thank you so much! I appreciated this🤗
What booking agencies do you recommend?
good video and vibes queen!
🙏🏾✨
Anyone knows whats the best budget bass 12'' speakers for small bar or party without use of subwoofer? What QSC model art those?
I’d say get a couple quality speakers such as 2/10’ or 2/12’ QSC speakers. They’re not budget though. You can turn on the extra bass feature on the speakers. 😉 In this video I’m using 2/8’ QSC speakers. They’ve worked well at All my events big and small. 💯
I love this mix Sis! Great vibes to paint to. I need to speak to you about my live paint set.
Thank you Thank you! 🤗You know I love a live paint set so let's definitely talk about it.
I know 2 married dj couples
I myself am now engaged to be married too 🤗
That’s awesome congratulations 🎊🎈🎉🍾
Thanks for your help ,but how do you go up steps.
I don't go up the steps with my cart; most likely there is a wheelchair ramp I can use or an elevator. If neither of those is available then the folks who booked me will arrange a way for me to have equipment carried upstairs and back down the stairs, but that's rarely the case.
found you on pintrest! <3
🥰😁
Good tips thanks.
Is that the ddj 1000? Happy belated birthday btw.
Thank you! Yes, this is the Pioneer DDJ-1000SRT
Such great advice! Thank you, DJ GURL! 🙏🏽
