The real difference between the two groups is that believers hold that the source of all being is conscious, even consciousness itself, as opposed to a great accident.

With my finite, human brain, I would assume a god which could create a universe (or multiverse) would be far beyond my ability to comprehend. No problem. Why not let It, Him, Her be a mystery? What else is there in the face of dead solar systems, conjoined twins, infant deaths, millions of years of animal suffering, and a lot of other things that just don't make sense?
