So Chateaux (in English)

So Chateaux (in English)

Welcome to my channel where I take you on exclusive tours of France's magnificent châteaux, guided by none other than the owners themselves.

As a French native with a deep passion for castles, I journey across the picturesque landscapes of France to capture the essence and stories of these historic structures, straight from the people who know them best.

Join me in exploring the grandeur and history embedded in each château. I hope you find joy and inspiration in my videos. Bon voyage!

Very interesting tour! I live in Ohio USA 🇺🇸. I know absolutely nothing about French history. I hope I can visit chateaus , castles and palaces in my lifetime. It's expensive to travel in general.

She doesn't speak english as her first language does she? She speaks really well, and I wouldn't notice anything different, but she speaks english, as if she is nervous. I watch this video and just want to tell her to take a deep breath, relax, and she speaks english very fluently, and there is no reason to be nervous. Your home is beautiful, and thank you for the tour of the public areas and the private areas. (and you were confused about ground level, first floor and second floor and top floor, lets be honest, I still get those confused hahah different people use the word ground level instead of first floor, and it confuses everyone)

Wine production was a way to save many Chateaus, pride of the Royal lineage.....Many red wines where considered the blood of the family....The difference between the Chateau you own vs the Chateau owns you is blood......They would provide and support the region with the food/wine production..... Restoration of these great monuments of history bring the past alive once more......

We have always had storms and fallen trees. That was happening in the 12th century up until today. Nothing has changed. The weather was unpredictable then……. same as today and will be tomorrow. That is why farming has always been very difficult!!

French (or Carom) Billiards...... who knew that existed??? (aside from the French, of course). Very interesting. There are lot of variations of the game. The baize wool table top surface is very smooth as there is no "nap" to allow the ball to roll faster and employ "english" (ironically) better. (in snooker, the baize is very nappy so the balls slow down faster). The table is to be heated underneath to allow less friction. It is where the word of the day, 'Carambolage'; (a succession of collisions) comes from. Henceforth, when I witness a pileup of cars in an accident, I will point and say to my friend, "A ha! Carambolaaaaaaage"

I hope that one day a skilled heraldrist will be able to decipher the coats of arms of all of your ancestors and relatives on that unique mural. Too bad the ink of the scribe had faded after all those years who had penned in the family names and years under each painted shield. It would be great if the mural could be digitalized on camera so we sleuths and amateur historians can take a crack at it. It is always a nice gesture to a long-ago deceased relative, whose actual grave might be unknow or lost and never visited, for their descendants to say their name and think about them as if they were in the same room again and give them a prayerful chuck on their shoulder for doing "a good job!" It is rare for a family who worked hard to earn a fortune to keep it going past 3 generations not to mention 9! Just think of the all the history that has passed in that time; wars, famine, pestilence, civil wars, bad crops, economic depressions, migration changes, new rulers, inventions, fire, illness, etc.... Keep up the great work. You Mother and Father would be very proud of you and your brother carrying on and sharing the beauty of such a cozy and inspiring home. I am glad the Chapel is used often and for memorial masses.
